284 Hunter hunted....
“Any weakness reported yet?” asked Marshal Yi as Hydra sent rapid fire at the monster that just wouldn’t relent.
“Not yet sir. We have been targetting every part of its body but so far nothing seems to be dealing damage,” responded Hydra as they dodged the fiery inferno shot in their direction.
“We might need to escalate things but we have to evacuate all the citizens.... Chen Chen, any progress.”
Yi Chen who was outside an apartment building guiding people towards the barrier so he could lead them to safety picked up a kid who fell to the ground crying while replying, “We are evacuating three high rises at the same time.”
He gave the child to his father as he absent-mindedly stepped away. “Speed it up. We are going to use a nitrogen bomb,” said the Marshal.
“Copy,” replied Yi Chen as he raised his head having felt a malicious presence staring in his direction. He clutched his laser rifle his expression vigilant. After everyone had gathered he raised his fingers and the personnel with him led the people into the alley.
He stood with his back to the alley vigilantly looking around. His gaze suddenly stopped in a certain direction. He raised the rifle and took a step forward. Yi Chen was certain that he had found the person sneaking around watching them.

“Make sure you have everyone. We are escalating things and deoxygenating this entire perimeter,” he explained after pressing the barrier with his palm. As soon as the barrier opened people began to rush through heading for safety. The two men Yi Chen was speaking to saluted him before exiting the alley.
.....
After Yi Chen left the man hiding in between the buildings across the street grinned slyly. He now knew how to get his monster out of the barrier.
His motto was simple that is to wreak as much havoc as possible even when he knows he wouldn’t win. He disappeared into the shadows unfortunately the person he was dealing with was an expert. No one could ever sneak on Yi Chen not even Zi Han. His senses were too sharp.
The man thought he was the one leading Yi Chen into a trap but it turned out the trap was for himself. When he finally realized it Yi Chen already held a gun to his head.
Unlike most who would tremble in surrender when in such a predicament, the man was of a different breed. Instead, he smiled sinisterly while raising his hands in the air.
“Hehehe you got me. You must feel like a big man,” he whispered his dialect almost similar to that of the boy they caught. The girl also had the same tone but at that time she barely spoke and they just assumed she was from a small clan in the mountains that rarely interacted with the rest of the federation. Turns out they all sound the same but judging from this man’s arrogance he must be a very important person.
“You lot foiled my plans. I simply planned on ruining that small planet but you just had to spoil my plans. This, right here is by your design. This is retaliation,” said the man as his gaze fell on the bone whistle around his neck. Because he had his back toward Yi Chen, it meant he didn’t notice what the man planned to do.
Yi Chen took out his laser cuffs and was about to cuff him when the man pulled up the born whistle and blew on it. The sharp ear piercing sound shot through the air and the monster that was a few feet from them suddenly bellowed irritably and spat out a blazing inferno in their direction.
Yi Chen crossed his wrists and a shield appeared protecting him from the blaze. His feet rooted to the ground he withstood temperatures reaching a thousand degrees celcius before dodging.
The man crouched down on top of a building with his hood off as he watched this brave young man withstand the flames.
“It seems your technology is no fucking joke,” he said as he watched Yi Chen who was standing on the other side of the flames that were dying down.
Yi Chen was about to retort when he saw those familiar eyes and somewhat similar facial features. The eyes looked like Zi Han’s and the face...
“Shit!” he muttered as he leaped up to the roof of the building and grabbed the man by the neck before letting him dangle at the edge of the building.
“It’s not a high enough fall to kill you but it’s enough to cripple you for life,” said Yi Chen with a cold glint in his eyes.
The man tried to grab his bone whistle but this time Yi Chen ripped it off his chest and tossed it to the ground breaking it.
The man’s face turned red his eyes almost bulging out with his veins throbbing as he clawed at Yi Chen’s hand trying to free himself but Yi Chen only tightened his grip.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“His royal highness’ ashes.... where are they?” he asked through gritted teeth. He knew he shouldn’t delay. He should just kill this person but when he thought of Zi Han he decided to get the information out of him first.
“Wha, what... ash... ashe-,” he said before Yi Chen squeezed his throat even tighter making it difficult for the man to speak.
“Where are they?!” he bellowed with the dust-filled breeze carrying his voice.
The man began to chuckle. He was being strangled but he was still laughing however difficult it might have been. “Yo... didn... wan, want him,” he spoke with great difficulty forcing Yi Chen to loosen his grip.
“Bit... ch... how the fuck wou, would I be here... if he is a pile... of ashes?”
As though struck by lightning Yi Chen momentarily froze glaring at this man with bloodshot eyes.
Due to his momentary distraction, the man cut his arm with a dagger from inside his cloak. Yi Chen grimaced as he loosen his grip letting the man fall.
However, the man didn’t fall to his death. Instead, he engaged the prince’s first mech before he inherited Igneous. It seemed when he took the prince he also raided his home and took his property.
“You would have made an excellent addition to the Republic but unfortunately you won’t live long,” yelled the man as he hovered in the air.
Yi Chen, “...”
