Chapter 135 The Gwith Hayden Alexander stared Hayden down and called him out on his lie.
"Hayden, it was Jasper who got that thirteen-year-old girl pregnant, right? He was in college then. You were worried about his future, so you whisked him away abroad. When Allison got slandered, you did nothing because you knew why they were after her it was all about the Bishop family's money!" "You let Allison take the fall for Jasper. Preston took over the Bennett Group because of this mess. You all threw Allison under the bus, and now you're trying to make it right only because they turned out to be screw-ups while Allison proved to be exceptional!" Alexander finished, standing up and straightening his suit.
He looked down at Hayden, his face serious and determined. "Allison may be young, but she knows everything. Why should she protect the Bennett family's reputation? Don't you get it, Hayden? I'm actually grateful you suggested I marry into the Bishop family. It shows you still have sconscience left for them." With that, Alexander turned to leave, leaving Hayden slumped in his chair.
Hayden's attempt to assert dominance had backfired miserably, leaving him deflated.
Feeling a surge of defiance, Hayden shot a few cold glares at Alexander during dinner. Allison noticed, her curiosity piqued. Her gaze wandered over to Alexander as she wondered what had happened to ruffle Hayden so much.
Alexander, unfazed, smiled at Allison and served her ssoup. "You ate a lot at lunch, so have ssoup tonight. Don't overeat." Allison nodded. She usually didn't have a big appetite, and at lunch with the Carter family, she felt obliged to eat more, which had indeed left her feeling stuffed.
"Allison, are you living with Alexander?" Hayden suddenly asked.

Hayden threw down his utensils, displeased. "I've been sick too. Why didn't you cto keepcompany?" Allison smiled. "Serenity Manor will be mostly renovated in two months. I've had them prioritize the main house, so it will be ready first. It has underfloor heating, so we won't have to worry about the cold!" Upon hearing this, Hayden felt a mix of shock and deep emotion. He never imagined he would live in the Bishop family's Serenity Manor again. Looking at Allison, Hayden was moved to tears.
Hayden nodded, tears streaming down his face.
"Allison, how can I possibly go back there?" he choked out.
Allison walked over to Hayden and hugged his shoulders. "Grandpa, that's our home. From now on, everything with the Bennett family will be Jasper's. I won't make things difficult for them as long as they behave. But swounds need to be reopened. If the pus isn't drained and the rotten flesh isn't cut away, the whole body will suffer, not just the part." Hayden nodded, tears streaming down his face. "I understand. Do what you need to do. I'm old and can't handle things anymore!" After dinner, Allison gave Hayden a massage before leaving. As she was about to go, Jonah cout.
"Ms. Bennett, Mr. Bennett askedto give this to you," Jonah said, handing Allison a sandalwood box. Allison took it, looking at Jonah in surprise.
"This is Grandma's. Why is Grandpa giving it to me?" Allison asked.
Jonah smiled. "Open it, and you'll see. Also, Bennett Manor has been calling, asking about Mr. Bennett's whereabouts. Ms. Bennett, you should prepare." With that, Jonah left.
Allison got into the car, holding the box, her expression serious.

Allison nodded. The box had no visible lock and required skill to open. Alexander examined it, amazed.
"This is truly a masterpiece!" Allison smiled. "This is Grandma's craftsmanship. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to learn it properly! The Bishop family once made weapons, so they were skilled in forging and mechanism design. Many of those skills have been lost!" Alexander hadn't known about this part of the Bishop family's history. "Valencia must have been an extraordinary woman!" Allison sighed. "My grandma was incredibly capable. The Bishop family donated most of their wealth to support the front lines during wartime. The men in the family almost all went to the battlefield, leaving Grandma to hold up the family. Unfortunately, she lost to matters of the heart." Alexander hugged Allison. She was only eighteen but carried the weight and sadness that made her seem much older, which broke Alexander's heart.
"Allison, you still have me," he whispered, his voice filled with determination and warmth.
Thinking of Valencia, Allison felt a pang of sorrow.
But hearing Alexander's words, Allison smiled and looked up at him. "I know, Alexander. Keep this box for me. It contains Grandma's life's work, and it's not safe with me." Alexander nodded. They had received many items today, and he would need to buy a new safe.
Back home, Allison went to shower and change. Alexander changed his clothes and went straight to the study, placing the items in the safe before calling James. "Allison wants to expose the Bennett family's scandals. Find an opportunity to release the information!" Alexander instructed.

After hanging up, Alexander called Liliana. "Liliana, I need to discuss something with you." Liliana was about to rest but wasn't surprised to receive Alexander's call. She had already guessed what he wanted to do next.
"You plan to get engaged, and the sooner, the better?" Liliana asked, and Alexander laughed.
"You really can't wait, can you, Alexander? Allison is only eighteen. Can't you dial it back a bit? Aren't you afraid of what people will say?" "When have I ever cared about what people say?" Alexander replied coolly.
Liliana sneered, "You don't need to worry about that. Someone is more anxious than you. Jessa will be in the country for half a year. If Affison were older, they'd probably have already planned the wedding! And I heard from Mia that there are sboys at school who are interested in Allison.
You better keep an eye out, Alexander." She hung up the phone, feeling quite pleased with herself.
Moments later, Victor cout from the shower and joined her in bed m Noticing her good mood, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close. "What happened to make you so happy?" Liliana explained, and Victor laughed too.
"Alexander has had it too easy. It's the felt spressure. Allison is truly exceptional. If only Mia were half as good as her!" Victor said.
Liliana's expression darkened. "What, are you saying Mia isn't as good as Allison academically? Why don't you find a mistress to give you a son?" Liliana's words made Victor instantly tense.
The Wilson family had a tradition that the heir in each generation must be male. Naturally, Victor needed a son to continue the line. However, despite NO being married to Liliana for many years, they had only a daughter. Consequently, the Wilson family was dissatisfied and began arranging for Victor to find a new wife who could bear him a son.
