Chapter 840
As Leopold lay on the ground, blood pooled around him and the pavement was stained a shocking red.
Thalassa’s head was buzzing, her body trembling as her breaths came in fits and starts. Her hands shook as she
reached out to touch him, but then she froze.
She was scared to touch him, scared that he might shatter at the slightest contact.
Tears blurred her vision, and the shrill cries of the reporters echoed around them. But to Thalassa, it was as if the
world had muted. It was as if she was watching a silent film filled with a bleak, desolate sadness.
“Call an ambulance… yes, an ambulance…” Thalassa’s panicked thoughts finally found some semblance of
coherence. Fumbling, she pulled her phone from her pocket.
Her trembling fingers struggled to tap the right buttons on the screen, and with great difficulty, she managed to dial

“Please, someone’s fallen… fallen from a building…”
Leopold, you have to be okay. The ambulance will be here soon. Thalassa’s hand shook as she clung to her phone
as she prayed.
The reporters who had been screaming in shock just moments ago were now pulling themselves together. Their
fear was replaced with a morbid fascination. Cameras were being pointed at Leopold and everyone was vying for
the scoop of the day.
An intense flash of light caught Thalassa’s eye, and she looked up to see the cold, relentless camera lenses focused
on Leopold’s broken form.
A shrieking wave of pain surged within her as if her heart was stabbed. And with a roar of defiance, she staggered
to her feet and lunged at the reporters, trying to push their cameras away.
“Stop filming! Stop it!”
“Get back, stop filming! Please, just stop!”
Leopold had always been a young man of grace. He wouldn’t want to be seen in such a state, to have his pain and
suffering displayed for the world to see.
Through the agony that threatened to tear her apart, Thalassa managed to push back the circling reporters and
create a small safe haven around Leopold.
Ethan, too, hadn’t expected the fallen figure to be Leopold. After a moment of stunned disbelief, he saw Thalassa
struggling with the reporters and rushed forward to help her keep them at bay.
“Leopold, my boy!” Amelia cried out from the 18th floor window, her heart aching as she watched the horrific
scene unfold below. The pain was unbearable.

unforgiving concrete. Amelia couldn’t comprehend the reality of the situation. Her legs gave way beneath her, and
she collapsed in a heap.
She cried out as her tear–filled eyes caught sight of the swarm of reporters below.
Lysander, too, was shocked. His pupils constricted as he turned to leave.
Amelia spotted him, and with the last bit of strength she could muster, she stumbled over and grabbed onto his
pant leg.
Lysander stopped in his tracks, his gaze hardened as he looked down at her.
choked back a sob, pleading, “Lysander, I beg you, don’t tell the reporters about the explosion being connected to
Leopold. Isn’t price he’s paid for this tragedy enough? Please, let him keep some of his dignity”
enched his jaw, his cheek muscles twitching. He tried to pull his leg away but Amelia held on tight.
Lysander Leopold has always respected you and do you really want to see him ruined?” Amelia pl
