Chapter 577 Not A Pushover
After pondering a moment, Avery replied: Let's see how it goes. I'll try my best to make it.
She had wanted to see what Brittany was really up to.
Meanwhile, it took Brittany a long time to finally reply with a cheeky smiley: I'm looking forward to your attendance.
Many of our classmates can't wait to see you too. The reunion will be held at The Night is Young. I'll send you the
address.
Thereafter, Brittany sent Avery the address and the room number.
With her phone in her hand, Avery slumped on her office desk out of boredom.
She didn't believe Brittany's claim that the other classmates were keen to see her. After all, other than her
outstanding results, she was terrible at socializing. In fact, she ended up being ostracized in high school for her
unfriendly personality.
Brittany was also one of those responsible for ostracizing her.
Cupping her chin with both her hands, Avery continued to deliberate on the matter.
Do the students who bullied me back in school still think I'm a pushover and want to see me suffer again? If that's
the case, I'm afraid they'll be disappointed.
Thereafter, Avery informed Cayden of her intention to attend the school reunion.
He quickly agreed, worried that she was getting too homely. Other than going to work, she would stay at home all
the time and wasn't even bothered to go out shopping. Thus, he felt that it would do her some good to expand her
social circle.
After all, he was going to the same club as she was for business entertainment, albeit in a different private room.
Nonetheless, despite giving her the freedom to go out, Cayden couldn't help worrying still. As a result, he got Nina
to accompany Avery to the school reunion.
...
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe next evening, Avery and Nina arrived at The Night is Young together.
As one of Ackleton's most luxurious clubs, their service was impeccable.
After Avery informed the staff of her private room number, the attendant warmly ushered them to it.
Just as they were about to reach the private room, Avery saw a young lady from afar. She had a wavy perm to her
hair and seemed to be waiting for someone.
When the woman with exquisite makeup spotted Avery, a vibrant smile broke out across her face.
Raising her hand high up to wave, she greeted Avery warmly, “Hi, Avery, do you still remember me?”
The woman had a distinct double eyelid and was wearing a dramatic set of colored contacts.
Even though Avery had a good memory, she had no impression of the lady at all.
When she saw the puzzled look on Brittany's face, the lady widened her lips into a smile. “Have you forgotten who I
am? It's me, Brittany.”
The mention of the name jolted Avery's memories. “Oh, it's you, Brittany. You look different now. I'm sorry I couldn't
recognize you as you've changed a lot.”
Brittany's smile froze abruptly.
The reason for her drastic change was that she had undergone plastic surgery.
When she saw how the smiling Avery was just as gorgeous as in the past, Brittany was filled with dejection and
indignance.
How can Avery not remember me? In that case, what's the point of organizing this reunion?
Back then, the students had organized a beauty pageant where she and Avery were the last two finalists.
With a group of her die-hard followers, she spent a lot of money to buy votes in her favor but still lost to the
unknown Avery in the end.
Just the thought of that incident alone disgust her.
The guys who voted for her must be blind. They have all been tricked by that innocent facade of hers.
Back then, Brittany even led a group of students to confront Avery over that matter. She intended to demand the
latter return the honor of campus belle to her.
Upon learning the purpose of Brittany's visit, Avery rubbed her tired eyes and replied in a languid tone, “There's
actually a beauty contest? I'm sorry. I'm not interested in it at all. You guys can have whatever title you're talking
about. Please move aside, as I still need to do revision.”
That scene ended up becoming Brittany's greatest humiliation.
As for the reunion, Brittany was actually surprised that Avery would agree to come.
She had assumed the latter didn't even dare show up.
As a result, she brought a group of rich male friends to watch her ridicule Avery.
Nonetheless, Brittany was filled with disbelief when her gaze fell upon Avery's baby bump. “Avery, you're pregnant?
How many months has it been?”
Avery replied in a rather distant tone, “I'm already a mother. This is my third child.”
As Brittany's shock intensified, a faint glint flashed across her eyes.
Subsequently, she turned her attention to the short-haired Nina. “Is she our classmate too? She looks familiar, but
I'm not sure who she is.”
Holding Avery's arm, Nina responded sarcastically, “Brittany, you must have been too busy to remember me. I'm
Nina Richter. I used to sit in the back row, do you remember now? Back then, we often argued over how we hand in
homework.”
“Oh, so it's you, Nina. Your hair was long when you were in school. Now that you have cut it short, I could barely
recognize you.”
Brittany flashed an awkward smile before returning her gaze to Avery.
The latter's face glowed underneath the illumination of the light.
Even though she was carrying a child, her face didn't show the puffiness typical of a pregnant woman. Instead, she

Consequently, Brittany tried to hide the jealousy in her eyes by smiling ear to ear.
After that, Brittany led Avery into the private room. The inside was spacious, and there were already thirty people
there.
The arrival of the three ladies quickly caught everyone's attention.
Avery, in particular, attracted the most looks.
A quick glance around the room took Avery by surprise, for Maria and Dylan were also among the guests.
This is clearly a class reunion. Why are there outsiders around?
The moment Dylan spotted Avery, excitement filled his senses. He subconsciously wanted to leave Maria aside and
walked toward the latter.
However, when his gaze fell upon her baby bump, his enthusiasm was quickly doused, as if someone had poured a
bucket of cold water over him. As he froze on his feet, the dejected look on his face was unmistakable.
On the other hand, Maria gave Avery a look that brimmed with hostility as she held on to Dylan's arm tightly.
As if to declare that Dylan was hers, she tightened the hug on his arm.
“Brittany, why is this woman here? Is she your classmate too?” Maria questioned Brittany in a loud voice.
After ushering Avery to sit on a couch beside them, Brittany gave Maria the side-eye. “Don't be rude, Maria. Avery is
my classmate in tenth grade.”
At that moment, it dawned upon Avery that Maria and Brittany were sisters as they shared the same surname.
No wonder Maria looked familiar all this while.
Overwhelmed by her hatred for Avery, Maria demanded that she be kicked out. “Brittany, aren't you ashamed to
have someone like her as your classmate? I don't want to see her here. Tell her to get lost.”
With a darkening expression, the irritated Dylan shoved Maria aside. “It's fine for you to make a fuss at home, but
this isn't the place for you to throw a tantrum. You'd had better not cross the line!”
The scowl on Dylan's face caused Maria to change her tact. “I'm sorry, Dylan. Please don't be mad.”
Avery simply threw them an indifferent glance, as if she was just watching a comedy.
