Skyler unwrapped a lollipop and popped it into his mouth, "Angel's hanging out with Leopold, and Arnold's all by himself in the room. Arnold must be bored out of his mind. You should go keep him company." Lisa offered a wry smile, "Arnold doesn't like staying with me." Skyler arched an eyebrow, a playful spark in his eyes, "I'll teach you a trick to win him over." "What kind of trick?" Lisa asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Just do this..." Skyler said with a mysterious grin, a fleeting shadow of mischief dancing in his gaze.
That evening, Leopold and Arnold took the kids out to catch the fireworks and light show.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAurelia chose to rest up in her room instead.
The viewing area was packed, but they had snagged seats in the SVIP section.
Lisa hadn't shown up. After dinner, she had retreated to her room to sleep, seeming incredibly tired. Arnold decided not to wake her, opting to bring Nova along solo.
For Nova, spending one-on-one twith her dad was a new experience. She felt a tad awkward at first, but perked up quickly at the sight of her siblings around her.
Beverley sipped her iced tea and pouted, "The fireworks are so awesome. | can't believe Aurelia and Lisa aren't here." Leopold explained, "Aurelia is tuckered out. She wanted srest." The little baby had been tricky and already caused a stir only for two months. Kane was the easy one, never made a peep in the belly.
"Oh." Beverley glanced at Arnold, "Is Lisa tired too?" Arnold replied, "She's been sleeping. | even had the nanny try to wake her, but no dice. She'll probably cover once she's up." "Alright then." Beverley stuck out her tongue, feeling a bit bored without her gossip buddy.
One of her favorite pastimes was dishing dirt with Aurelia. They just clicked, always instantly on the swavelength.
Before the show kicked off, Nova climbed onto her dad's lap, gnawing on a teether. She had occasionally grabbed William's hair with her chubby little hands, coaxing him to play.

Just then, her eyes cut through the crowd and she seemed to have seen a ghost, her eyes wide open.
"Goo-goo gah-gah..." She pointed into the crowd, trying to tell William something.
William quickly looked back, seeing nothing but a sea of faces.
"What have you spotted now, Nova?" Nova turned to Skyler beside her, pointing her fingers at him, "Goo-goo gah-gah..." Skyler facepalmed, "She hasn't spotted another ghost connected to me, has she?" Leopold and Arnold both directed their gaze into the crowd.
It was the third tNova had done this, looking utterly astonished. What on earth had she seen? Mira shivered, "Shoot, is that ghost still following us? Without the sun, they can roam freely at night." Nina stomped her foot in annoyance, "Ugh, so annoying. Why is it following us? It's not svengeful spirit coming for us, is it?" William shrugged, "It's probably not after us but after Skyler. It must be trying to send him a message through Nova, but all we're getting is baby babble." Arnold patted his head, "There's no such thing as ghosts in this world. I've traveled all over the pland haven't seen a hint of a ghost. Nova has probably just spotted soddball in the crowd." Beverley chimed in, "Arnold, you're just brimming with too much life force, that's why ghosts steer clear of you. They're drawn to babies." William quickly stood up, scooping Nova into his arms. What an overprotective big brother!
