Chapter 264 In her apartment, Aurelia had just finished dinner and was lounging on the couch, engrossed in Dream for Young Bonnie, the star of the show, was all the rage right now, her popularity skyrocketing thanks to Avery. Surprisingly, a lot of fans were rooting for Bonnie to get back with her ex, anticipating a reconciliation.
Aurelia found it all rather amusing. She wasn’t expecting Leopold to drop by tonight but to her surprise, the door opened at around nine o'clock.
For some reason, she felt a strange flutter of anticipation, almost as if she had been hoping he would come. Perhaps it were the babies in her belly that was excited.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLeopold shrugged off his coat and settled down beside her.
She popped a cherry into her mouth and casually remarked, “If it’s too late, you don’t have to come over.” Leopold furrowed his brows and said, “That's a needless thing to say.” She made a face at him, “I was just worried it might interfere with your dates.” Her voice was barely audible, almost as if she was talking to herself, but Leopold still managed to catch it, “What dates? | was in a meeting.” He had just completed an international conference.
“My mistake. | apologize.” She gave a smile. No wonder she didn’t smell of perfume.
Leopold shot her a glance. He didn’t usually explain himself, but for some reason, he felt compelled to do so with her.
Aurelia quickly changed the subject to lighten the mood.
“Avery got an invitation from a TV network to appear in their New Year's Eve special. Our Avery isn’t just handsome and talented, but he's also a great singer. He's a real catch.” Leopold's expression was impassive. He didn’t have much interest in Avery, who had been nothing but unfriendly towards him.
“Destiny is launching this Friday, and are you ready?” “Rest assured, Mr. Leopold. Everything is prepared. We're just waiting for it to be successful.” She flashed a smile. There was going to be a big jewelry show at Times Square, with a runway designed by her. It was determined to outshine the Eternal Love series.
Leopold cast her a sidelong glance, “What are you waiting for?” “All the advertising slots have been given to the Eternal Love series. Can we switch some to Destiny?” Aurelia was looking at him with hopeful eyes.

Leopold saw through her ploy immediately. He picked up his cup, having some water, and slowly said, “You know how to make an example out of someone, don't you?” Aurelia grinned, “I got it. Thanks for the advice, Mr. Leopold.” After a moment of silence, she remembered something about Ritchie and said in a low voice, “You asked me if | needed a lawyer last time. | think | might actually need one.” Chapter 264 Leopold raised an eyebrow and asked, “What has your cousin gotten himself into now?” Aurelia explained Ritchie’s situation of borrowing money from the loan shark and using her name as the guarantor without her consent.
“I asked the loan shark to have Ritchie sign the guarantee agreement again, this time securing it with his own property. But he’s definitely not going to agree to it, implying more complications are yet to come.” A glint of disdain flashed in Leopold's eyes, and he said, “People like him deserve a lesson they will never forget.” Aurelia agreed, hoping that Baily would teach him being a decent human being.
Just then, Leopold's phone rang. It was Evelyn.
“Leo, | feel really sick. Help!” “Where are you?” Leopold asked.
“I'm at the Aurora Club. | just had a drink and something feels off. I've locked myself in the bathroom and I'm afraid to come out.
Please come get me!” “I'll be right there.” Leopold hung up the phone and grabbed his coat from the couch, “I have to go. You should get some sleep.” “Okay.” Aurelia pouted. He had just come over when his sweetheart called him, summoning him away. He was really busy.
