"You're a looker, no doubt," William declared without hesitation.
Skyler nodded vigorously beside him, "Yep, you are the prettiest, and you are top-notch, as stunning as an angel." Nina chimed in, "Lady Leah, you and Marianne are like apples and oranges, you know? She has this classic, traditional beauty, but you? You have a more exotic and sensual charm. Are you a mixed-blood?" Leah gave a sheepish grin; her mother indeed was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed European.
"I'm not mixed, just look like it," she mumbled.
William winked mischievously, "Don't sweat it, Leah. Avery's definitely gonna dig your style." A blush crept over Leah's cheeks, "Cut it out, and | was just curious. | feel like I've been putting on weight lately, maybe I really should go on a diet?" William clicked his tongue, "A diet? That's gonna be tough. Can you resist not having ice cream? It's summer, blazing hot, and if you don't have an ice cream a day, it's pure torture." Leah bobbed her head up and down, "It's tough alright." She would scarf down at least three ice creams every time.

Nina made a playful face, "Poor Leah, looks like slimming down is off the table." Leah clutched her forehead in resignation.
She hadn't expected her diet plan to be so thoroughly dismissed, even by the kids.
Kane explained, "The whole reason Leah can't stick to her diet is because of Avery. If Avery told her that she was getting a bit chunky and he was not into that, she'd drop forty pounds in a month. But Avery always said that he loves a girl chubby, and he's always tempting her with all sorts of treats. How's she supposed to lose weight?" His words hit home.
The kids covered their mouths, snickering.
Nina said, "Leah, maybe just forget about dieting. Imagine you finally slim down and then Uncle Avery's like, 'I'm not into skinny minnies,' and you have to gain it all back." "Right," the others echoed in agreement, nodding wildly.
Leah felt speechless, her diet planned to melt away amidst such disharmony.
William passed the fruit platter to Nellie, who was attending her first party at their place and was still getting to know everyone. As the host, he had to make sure she felt welcome.
"Nellie, fancy another shot at the claw machine? I'll snag you that cotton candy plush you've got your eyes on." "Sure!" Nellie beamed and her affection for cotton candy plushies was no secret.
"Let's go then," William said, taking her hand.

"| want a cotton candy plushie too," Margot said.
Kane took her little hand, "I'll take you, Margot." Skyler stood up promptly. He was the king of the playdate, "Let's all go together, and follow the leader." "Let's go, let's go, hands in hands we go, to win some plushies..." he sang, leading the kids back to the arcade area.
Chirpy flew in, landing on William's shoulder.
"Such a crowd, so lively, so lively." "Chirpy's here!" Margot, Bella, Nina, and Mira all cheered.
Nellie's eyes widened in awe, "Wow, William, your parrot's amazing, and it talks." Chirpy puffed out its chest proudly, "I'm the smartest, the very smartest." William stroked its head, "Chirpy, perch on the claw machine, watch me win a plushie." Chirpy understood, flapping its wings and landing squarely on the machine, directing William, "Left, left, now right, now right..." At that moment, Arnold arrived, having finished up his work, he'd rushed over to spend Children's Day with William.
"Looks like the kids are having a blast today," he observed.
