Today, Aurelia was on a day off, planning a down-to-earth date with Leopold, to give him a taste of common folk's life.
She'd bet her last dollar that he'd never ridden a public bus or subway in his life.
As the leader of the Stirling family, he was always under close guard.
They slipped on latex masks before heading out, blending in with the crowd anonymously.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLeopold had a thing about cleanliness and wasn't fond of rubbing shoulders with strangers. Stepping into the subway station, he was immediately hit by the discomfort of the bustling crowd.
"Let's just drive. I'm really not a fan of the subway." "Do you even have a regular car?" Aurelia quipped, knowing full well that all his vehicles were custom-made luxury models.
Leopold's eyebrows arched as he dialed Kevin. Soon enough, a nondescript Volkswagen Passat rolled up.
"Honey, there's nothing | can't do in Elysium." Aurelia sighed inwardly, acknowledging Leopold's formidable wallet.
She had it all planned out, lunch first, then a mall crawl.
They found themselves at a cozy noodle shop.
No sooner had they sat down than familiar faces walked in, Megan and Jewel, taking a spot right beside them.
Megan was out for a little retail therapy and frowned upon seeing the modest establishment.
"Seriously? This is where you're takingto eat?" Jewel replied, "Try the pasta here, and they're the best in all of Elysium. You'll see." Aurelia massaged her temples. The universe really did have a twisted sense of humor.
She ordered spicy pasta for herself and black pepper beef tenderloin pasta for Leopold since he couldn't handle spicy food. She added sbok choy with mushrooms, and a couple of servings of dessert to the order.

The server quickly brought out their food, and Leopold tenderly offered her a piece of beef tenderloin, "Try this, honey." Aurelia took a bite, "The beef is so tender and flavorful." Megan caught the exchange and scowled, her tolerance for public displays of affection at an all-tlow. She couldn't help but mutter under her breath.
"Get a room. All this flaunting is nauseating." Aurelia couldn't help but overhear, "Was that directed at us?" Leopold stroked her hair soothingly, "Ignore her, babe. She just can't help making a scene." "Right," Aurelia nodded, offering him a piece of mushroom, "Here, try this." Her eyes twinkled mischievously, imagining Megan's reaction if she knew their true identities. It would be a spectacle.
Nearby, another couple thought Megan's remarks were aimed at them. The girl retorted, "What's the matter, are you jealous much?" Megan snapped back, "I'm married, so | won't be jealous of you." The girl shot back, "Must be why your husband left you, so you can't stand to see others happy." Her boyfriend wrapped an arm around her, "Don't mind her, and she's probably just divorced." The girl pouted, "Figures. Who'd stick around with someone like that?" Their words hit a nerve. Rumors were swirling that Leopold would divorce Megan as soon as he was out of the hospital, and everyone was laughing at her behind her back.
She was on the verge of losing her mind.
"Who do you think you're speaking to? I'm someone you don't want to mess with in Elysium." "Then enlighten us, who are you?" the girl challenged with a dismissive snort.
Jewel quickly intervened, "Let's just calm down, okay? She wasn't talking about you. You misunderstood. How could she see you with her back to you? She was talking about another table." Aurelia couldn't help but smile, saying, "Actually, she was probably talking about us."
