Chapter 134 +25 BONUS "Kris!" Luisa screamed when she opened her eyes to see Kris bleeding from his shoulder. She shot to her feet and rushed toward him. "Kris... are you okay?" "Yes... I'm fine," he muttered, brushing off her concern. "But you need to get behind the car. Now." Before Luisa could respond, the man who had fired the shot turned his gun back on her, but before he could pull the trigger, Alden suddenly crashed into him, tackling him to the ground.
Alden grabbed his wrist, and they struggled over the gun until he finally managed to knock it out of the man's hand.
"How dare you! How dare you try to shoot her?!" He raged, slamming his fist into the man's face. More punches followed.
When the man was finally subdued, Alden took his gun and grabbed him by the collar. He dragged him to where the rest were standing, throwing him onto the floor beside his accomplice.
Luisa gasped when she saw Alden's face, noticing a small but bloody cut on his forehead. "Oh, Alden! Are you okay?" "Yeah, don't worry, gorgeous," he replied, flashing her a small smile.
Tears welled in Luisa's eyes, and the next moment, she did something that surprised Alden and even herself, she cupped his face in her hands and kissed him, not caring that his blood smeared onto her skin. Alden stiffened at first, but then he relaxed into the kiss.
When they pulled apart, Alden managed a small grin. "If this is the reward I get for wrecking my car, maybe I should crash it more often." Luisa smacked his chest, making him wince. "Don't even joke about that." "Who sent you?" Kris's harsh voice pulled their attention back onto the man on the floor.
If these bastards were doing this on their own, they would've fled as soon as things went south. The fact that they kept trying to kill Luisa meant that someone had sent them "We're not telling you anything," the man Luisa had stabbed with her stiletto sneered.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZeke didn't hesitate, kicking the man square in the mouth. Two teeth flew out, followed by a gush of blood. "Speak, or I swear worse is going to happen to you," Kris growled, no sign of pain on his face despite his bleeding shoulder.
"You can send us to jail if you want. We'll be out in a day," the other assassin gloated.
A cold smile stretched across Kris's lips. "Who said anything about jail?” he replied, taking the gun from Alden's hand and pointing it directly at the two men.
"I can just shoot you two here and claim self-defense. I have enough witnesses to backup." Alden, Luisa, and Zeke tensed as they exchanged glances, wondering whether he was being serious. One of the men got frightened and began pleading. "No, don't kill me! I just needed the money." "What are you doing?" His partner hissed, glaring at him.
Kris focused on the one who was scared of dying, pointing the gun directly at him. "If you don't wantto blow your brains out, then start talking. Why were you after Luisa?" 1/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 134 "We...we were sent to kill her and make it seem like a robbery," the man responded.
Luisa shivered, imagining what her fate would have been had she not been rescued. Alden pulled her close to his side, kissing her on the temple to calm her down.
"Sent by who?" Zeke demanded.
"I don't know. He knows," the frightened man pointed at his quiet partner.
Kris slammed the butt of the gun on the man's head, causing; blood to gush out. "Who fucking sent you?" "You're wasting your time," the man hissed, despite groaning in pain.
Suddenly, a phone began ringing. The man tried to reach into his pocket to pull it out, but Zeke stomped on his foot while Kris pulled out the phone.
The caller ID showed a private number. Kris answered and put the call on speaker.
"I've been waiting for your call, Akim. Tellyou're already done with the job," a voice that was all too familiar cthrough the speakers.
They all looked at each other, recognizing the voice.
Luisa was so shocked that she gasped out loud. “Clark?" Alden snatched the phone from Kris and hissed into it. "Fucking bastard. We know it's you, Clark. Your men have already been caught, and you're going to regret even thinking about targeting Luisa." The line went dead immediately. At the stime, sirens began blaring. Soon, three police cars were parked around the scene. The two assassins were cuffed and taken into custody.
"Why would Clark want to kill you?" Zeke asked, looking utterly confused, since he had no idea about their suspicions surrounding Clark.
"I'll explain everything later,” Luisa assured him, her voice still shaky. "Right now, we need to warn Thalassa. I'm afraid Clark will hurt her now that he's going to be exposed." 1 "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Clark slammed his fist repeatedly into the dashboard of his car.
How could those idiots have failed so miserably? Now he was at risk. If Akim cracked under police pressure and spilled everything, Clark knew he was finished. He needed to do something to protect himself.
With that, he started his car and began driving. He had been parked a short distance from Thalassa's house, which was how he had seen Luisa leaving and informed his men to go after her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmArriving at Thalassa's house, he was easily allowed entry by the security guard since he had been there several times before. After parking the car, he hurried to the porch and pressed the doorbell.
A few moments later, Thalassa opened the door. "Clark? What are you doing here?" "Lassa," Clark began, forcing a calm smile. "I know this is unexpected, but there's something really important I need to show you. Can you cwith me?" Thalassa raised a brow. "Does it have to be right now?" Clark nodded. "Yes. It's very important, and it won't take too long." She pondered that for a moment. “Okay. But it's very cold outside, so I need to put on a jacket before we go. Hope 2/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 134 you don't mind waiting a bit in the living room." Clark clenched his teeth but forced another smile. He couldn't afford to rush things now and make her suspiciously.
"Sure," he said as he headed to the living room while Thalassa went upstairs.
Minutes passed, each one feeling like an eternity. Clark paced, his foot tapping impatiently against the floor.
e Just as he was about to storm upstairs and drag her out if he had to, Thalassa reappeared wearing a black jacket. "Are you ready to go now?" he questioned impatiently, extending his hand to her.
Thalassa smiled faintly and raised her hand. Clark thought she was about to take his hand, but instead, she shoved her hand into the inside pocket of her jacket and pulled out a gun.
Clark froze, his eyes wide as she aimed the gun straight at him. "What the hell are you doing?"
The smile on Thalassa's face vanished. "I was waiting for my m investigators to confirmỹ suspicions about you," she said icily. "But you trying to kill my best friend? That's the last straw." 1. Dally Author
