Chapter 147 Zeke's jaw tightened. "What bothersis that you're harassing Thalassa. It's obvious she doesn't want you around." "Harassing her?" Kris raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you think I'm 'harassing' her?" "When someone wants nothing to do with you and you keep trying to insert yourself into their life, that's called harassment." Zeke took his tto explain like he was speaking to a child.

Kris smiled in amusement, but before he could respond, Zeke turned to Luisa, his voice rising slightly in frustration. "And you! Why would you even think of bringing him here, Luisa? What were you thinking?" Luisa let out a sigh. “Zeke, have you forgotten that it was Kris who saved my life? I'm just trying to do something in return. He's injured because of me, and I'm helping him out until his wound heals a little." The cold look on Zeke's face faltered for a moment, his shoulders dropping slightly as he turned back to Kris, clearing his throat.

"Er...I haven't properly thanked you for that. But I... I really do appreciate what you did, Kris.” He nodded sincerely. "Thank you for saving my sister's life." "There's no need to thank me." Kris nodded back, and the tension between them ease-just for a second-before Zeke's eyes hardened once again.

"But that doesn't mean you get to worm your way back into Thalassa's life because of it," Zeke added, shaking his head firmly. "Why can't you understand that you've hurt her far too much, and you don't deserve her?" Kris rolled his eyes. "And who deserves her? You?" Zeke didn't hesitate, meeting Kris's gaze head-on as he spoke. "Yes, me. I deserve her because I would never hurt her like you did. I would believe her above anyone else. By my side, she'll be happy." Kris forced a mocking smile despite his irritation. "Then why haven't you told her that you're in love with her? If you're so sure you can make her happy?" Zeke's jaw clenched tightly, but his voice remained controlled. “Because, unlike you, I'm not selfish. I'm not trying to force myself into her life. She's been through enough because of you. I want her to accomplish everything she cback for so that she can heal first." The two men stared at each other, the tension between them crackling in the air like electricity. The glaring match went on for a full minute because neither was willing to back down.

"Cut it out, both of you!" Luisa snapped, stepping between them. "Thalassa wouldn't like this. She wouldn't want either of you talking about her like this at all. She makes her own decisions." Zeke's gaze softened slightly as he looked at his. "Are you supporting him now because he saved your life?" he asked in bewilderment. "Is he using it to guilt-trip you into helping him?" Luisa shook her head, her expression firm. "No one has guilt-tripped me, Zeke. I'm here to support Thalassa no matter the choice she makes as long as it makes her happy.

Zéke stared at her for a long moment, his face a mixture of disbelief and disappointment. Then, without another word, he shook his head and walked out of the kitchen, leaving Kris and Luisa alone.

Kris glanced at Luisa, opening his mouth to thank her, but she held up a hand to stop him.

"Don't thank me," she said quietly, looking at him seriously. "I'm not going to lie to you. I think Zeke is a better man for Thalassa than you. He's always been there for her, and he knows how to appreciate and take care of the 1/2 +25 BONUS Chapter 147 people he loves." She paused for a moment. "Sure, he can be controlling and little overbearing at times, but that's because he cares too much." Kris's face tightened, but he stayed quiet as she continued.

"But," Luisa added, her voice little "I've also csoftening just a little "I've to realize that maybe you're not the bastard I thought you were." Kris smiled. "That almost sounded like a compliment."

Luisa gave him a small smile, then sighed. "I'm not the one who gets to decide who Thalassa's heart chooses... Even though it seems it has already chosen." Kris arched an eyebrow, the faintest hint of hope in his voice. "Are you trying to tellthat her heart still chooses me?"

Luisa's smile faded as she glared at him playfully. "Stop fishing for m information from me," she warned. "Now get out of my kitchen." "Sure." Kris smirked as he turned to leave, feeling more hopeful than he'd felt in a long time.

Even though Luisa hadn't said the words, now he was sure; Thalassa still had feelings for him.
