Nora interjected, “But as far as I remember, you used to adore Vernon and clamor to have the beef
cooked by him. He has made them for you today, and you can have as much as you want.”
“Come, Harriet, try my cooking. If you like it, I’ll make it for you every day.”
Vernon gently picked up a piece of beef and placed it in Harriet’s bowl. His smile was warm and
inviting.
In perfect harmony, Vernon and Nora worked together, disregarding Delbert entirely.
