Chapter 1422 Dungeon(1)
Chapter 1422: Dungeon(1)
The gentle wind touched Aakesh's face, lightly pecking his cheeks.
Aakesh looked around and found no other life in the endless grassland. His face grew solemn as every inch of the area released a threatening sensation.
Even the gentle wind seemed like a devil's whisper at that moment. Aakesh immediately activated a defensive skill, and the next moment, a white aura enveloped him, protecting him from physical, spiritual, and energy attacks.
Aakesh then raised his foot upward to take the step, but as he was about to land, a chill crawled down his spine. His intuition warned him against putting his foot down.
Aakesh didn't try to test the danger level and took back his foot. At that moment, the gentle wind turned into a storm filled with wind blades.
The wind blades repeatedly tried to hit Aakesh, but the white aura remained stead, facing against all of it without any issue.
The situation didn't play for long, and soon, the storm of wind blades returned to its gentle avatar. At that time, Aakesh suddenly had the idea to take the next step.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt was as if the wind had whispered in his ears to take the next step, and it immediately became a goal in his heart. Aakesh forced his body to stay still, and his strong will didn't disappoint him.
A few minutes later, the urge to take the next step disappeared, and calm returned to the scene as well as his heart.
Boom!
An explosion suddenly rang in the area, taking Aakesh's attention. It wasn't very far from him. The sound and intensity of the explosion were such that he should have been blasted, but except for the sound, he felt nothing strange.
Aakesh immediately understood why he didn't feel the explosion other than his hearing sense. It was as if a cylindrical barrier had surrounded the explosion. The dust and destroyed grass exploded in a cylindrical pattern in a one-meter range around the blast.
When the dust and destroyed grass subsided, what welcomed Aakesh wasn't a damaged pit but a pure black door with a white pattern right above the handle, the same as what was engraved on the back of his right hand's palm.
The next moment, a force of attraction appeared, trying to grab Aakesh toward the door. It was not at the level where it could force Aakesh to his limit, so he controlled himself and looked at the pattern without making any movement.
Aakesh was trying to see if there was a difference in even a stroke in the two patterns since different strokes could alter the meaning of the key. It didn't take long before Aakesh found that the two patterns were entirely similar and had the same meaning.
The force of attraction was still there, but once Aakesh crushed it, it became negligible. He then raised his right foot, and the danger sensation didn't alert him at that time.
The door was only several meters away from him, so it only took him a few steps to reach it. Once he was one step away from it, his hands tried to run away from his body and grab the door's handle.
Aakesh controlled the force and grabbed the handle. The door was to be pushed, so he simply added some force, and the next moment, the pattern on his hand and the door lit up at once.
Aakesh had to close his eyes before it could destroy them. It was as if a new sun had appeared in the area. Even with closed eyes, he felt stinging pain in them.
Aakesh used his divine sense to look at the light, but even that was burned, forcing Aakesh to take it back. Not long after, there was no stinging pain, so Aakesh opened his eyes.
Aakesh raised his eyes in surprise as he was no longer in the grassland but inside a dungeon. If not for his ability to see in the darkness, the world would be totally dark for him.
There was an ugly stench permeating every corner of the dungeon. Aakesh frowned since the source of the stench was the rotting corpses. From the intensity of the smell, Aakesh calculated the number of corpses to be hundreds of millions, if not billions.
Aakesh's will was strong enough to persevere through that stench, so he calmly walked forward, hoping to find clues about where he was and how to leave the area.
The moment he completed his hundredth step, there was a sudden movement in front of him. The path going straight disappeared, and a fork that went four ways appeared, asking for Aakehs to choose one path.
Aakesh didn't feel any kind of danger from any of the four paths, so he randomly picked the second one and pushed forward. The next moment, the path behind him turned into a straight road, so even if Aakesh were to turn around, he would be going to a different destination.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAakesh didn't turn around since his intuition warned him against it. He kept walking forward. That time, he walked for two hundred steps and was greeted with eight forked paths.
Similar to the last time, Aakesh didn't sense danger from any of the eight roads ahead, so he again chose randomly.
Following the pattern, the next choice should be after completing three hundred steps in the chosen path, but when he met the condition, it wasn't the fork waiting for him.
What greeted him instead was a blocked road. Aakesh reached ahead and focused on the murals painted across the wall.
It was detailing the story of a war between two demons, while there were hundreds of spectators cheering for their chosen combatant.
As soon as Aakesh focused on it, a force appeared and sucked him inside. Aakesh could do nothing to stop it, and the next moment, he became one of the many spectators with his usual indifferent expression.
Cheer! Cheer! Cheer!
"Bet on the demon!"
"Bet!"
"Bet!"
A voice appeared in Aakesh's head, asking him to make a bet on either of the two demon combatants. If the one he bet on won the battle, he would be able to leave. If he lost the bet, he would replace the losing demon and fight in the arena.
