Chapter 240: Quest
Aakesh left the skill store after buying the skills. He then asked the system about the time left for the sun to rise in Visteerna.
Hearing that there was still an hour left, Aakesh decided to do something here rather than exit Panagea.
He now had three choices. He could activate the skill, Universal-Eye, and Fortune-eye and hope for something quick. He could also look for a simple quest from the town of Wolfden, or he could either try his skill on some beasts and have a killing spree.
After thinking for a moment, Aakesh decided to go with the second option. He would look for a quest, and then he would try to complete it in an hour.
When Aakesh made his decision, he didn't wait for a second and headed for the house of the Townhead. He could get quests from others, but the Townhead would give him tough missions with high rewards. Aakesh wanted big gains and also some increase in his level.
A few minutes later, Aakesh reached the home of the Townhead. Around ten guards were standing around the house and guarding it. They were ready to face any problem that may arrive.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAakesh noticed that even the weakest of the ten guards had reached Level 30, while the guard with the highest level was higher than Aakesh.
When Aakesh was only a few steps away from the door, the guard told him to stop. His privilege of being an adventurer didn't work here, and he had to answer the purpose behind him coming here.
After learning that Aakesh was here to take the quests, their expression turned respectful, and they allowed him to enter.
"Welcome, adventurer!"
Right after Aakesh entered, he heard a familiar voice welcoming him. He looked at the owner and found it was the Townhead. He had seen Townhead in the auction, so he recognized the man in front of him.
Aakesh expressionlessly nodded in response to the Townhead's welcome. Then he explained his intentions and requested only quests that would give him at least an increase of a few levels.
After hearing Aakesh's request, the smile on the Townhead's face turned wider. Many quests gave level increases of more than two or three levels, but they were also dangerous, so the Townhead only allowed people to take them when it became necessary to complete them. He was unable to clear them personally as the quests were only for those below Level 50.
When Aakesh arrived, the Townhead had felt that now the baggage of so many quests would get lighter since the adventurers were the chosen child of the world and had the ability to revive, no matter the circumstances.
Aakesh finally arrived today to complete those quests; how can the Townhead not get happy?
The Townhead then asked Aakesh to follow him and took him to the place where the scrolls for the quests were placed.
Several moments later, Aakesh was in a room full of counters, and the counters full of scrolls. The Townhead then pointed at the shelf that only had missions rewarding increase of at least two levels.
Aakesh nodded and then left in the direction of the shelf pointed by the Townhead. He then grabbed one of the scrolls, but when he tried to unroll it, a blue window containing the details written in the scroll appeared in front of him.
[Brave Adventurer, the merchant group, needs your help!
The merchants who travel from Wolfden to the city and bring the necessary supplies back to Wolfden are facing a number of difficulties while traveling due to the silver wolves. Due to that, the prices of the products are rising, and the merchant groups are facing losses.
Adventurer, for the mission, you need to guard the caravan when it crosses from town to city and then in the return journey.
If you successfully guard the caravan without any trouble, the increase of six levels would be your reward!]
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAfter reading the details, Aakesh put down the scroll right away. Even though an increase of six levels was a huge reward, Aakesh didn't like it since the mission was time consuming. It took around two days to travel to the city, and Aakesh didn't have that amount of time to spend it on a mission.
After putting it down, Aakesh picked up another scroll. Similarly, like the last time when he tried to unroll it, a new window containing the details of the mission appeared in front of him.
Time flew by, and ten minutes passed. Aakesh had read several mission scrolls in the past ten minutes, but he didn't find a single quest that wasn't time consuming and rewarded an increase of a few levels.
Another five minutes passed, and Aakesh finally found a mission that didn't take hours and days, and it also rewarded him an increase of three levels.
After reading the details of the quest, Aakesh didn't know what to say. It was a quest created due to his slaughter of the radicals.
The world of Panagea(the system) had created a protection circle around low-level towns. Anyone above the Level 50 couldn't enter the area. If anyone forcefully tried to break the protection, then the being could only die since the Panagea would erase the soul of the being. Even the Emperors weren't above the will of Panagea; they were only equal to it. Anyone below them, even a Level 1000 creature, was like ants in front of the will of Panagea.
So, when the higher-level followers of the religion of Volgoxas found out about the slaughter, they hired the guild, Netherstorm, to destroy the town since it was the first time the radicals had failed in sacrificing a town. They also didn't send more low-level followers because it would be an insult to their god Volgoxas if they failed again.
The Netherstorm guild sent several Level 40s and a Level 50 to complete the mission.
According to the quest Aakesh read, he needed to handle every Level 40, and the Townhead would fight the Level 50 sent by the guild.
Seeing the difficulty of the mission, the reward of only an increase of three levels seemed less, but since the mission was for beings around Level 40, the gain became good.
Since gaining three more levels would make him Level 35, and his chances of failing to kill the wolf king would further diminish, Aakesh decided to take the quest.
