The Founder of Qi Cultivation, Reincarnates?
Chapter 363 360- Hao Yu’s ShockDespite the Continent being quite large, the Celestial Academy’s flying ship was a high-grade Spirit Artifact that could rival the sound barrier in speed.
It was no wonder they reached the Southern Border in a few hours.
“Wow! That’s amazing.”
“Right? I read about the borders of our Maple Continent, but seeing it in person I never thought it would be this amazing.”
A few disciples were marveling at the Southern Border as they approached. There was a large wall that span the entire horizon.
It doesn't sound that amazing when one tries to describe it with words, but the feeling one would get when one laid eyes on this colossal existence for the first time was an indescribable feeling.
“Wait! Look at those markings on the wall, aren’t those rune inscriptions?!”
A disciple said in shock, and the many other disciples hearing him followed suit when they confirmed his words.
“This wall is unbelievable, I can’t imagine how long this must have taken to build.”
“Didn’t they say it was over three hundred years?”
“Yeah, I read that somewhere as well.”
Like this, the disciples began talking among themselves about the wall's grandiose appearance.
Suddenly one disciple could be heard saying.
“If the Southern Border is this amazing, I can’t imagine the others.”
“That’s not the case.”
Another disciple could be heard saying that, confusing the disciple that made the comment. To clear up his confusion this disciple continued to speak.
“Even though the wall stretched the entire continent, the Southern Border is the only border with this type of defense.”
“Why is that?”
The disciple asked, and this conversation had drawn more than a few disciples as they were interested as well.
This disciple, that wore the Beast Tamers Division aura robes, had garnered a lot of attention. But he seemed used to it as he explained in a calm manner.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“That’s simple, it's because this is the Border where the Star Bound Continent would attack if we were to go to war.”
A lot of disciples sported understanding expressions upon hearing that, they should have figured this out themselves from how obvious it was.
"But didn't we have a treaty with them? They aren't going to attack us right?"
"Are you forgetting that the treaty was due to the Second Prince marrying Goddess Yue? Now that he's dead the feud with the Star Bound Continent has probably ignited, which will make the Chosen Tournament extremely tense."
“And…”
Before the topic could shift, the disciple wasn’t finished speaking and chimed in.
“This is nothing, you guys are going to be even more shocked when we cross this wall. Just try not to crap your pants from fright then.”
“What?”
A few disciples frowned at this person’s words. What did he mean by that?
When everyone was starting to get upset because of this disciple's words, a female disciple's face in the crowd lit up, she had recognized this person.
“That’s Hao Yu.”
Her voice wasn’t loud but people still heard her and the news spread quickly.
Hao Yu was someone who was well-known when he was in the Inner Academy. His talent in beast taming had even caught the eye of the Beast Tamer Division Headmaster, who took him in and gave him pointers.
However, like many other cases, he just went off the grid suddenly and no one in the Academy heard anything about him again. It was recently that people find out about Chosens and thus attributed his low-key profile to be that he was recruited to become a Chosen.
He was one of the few disciples that were in the top five hundred on the Chosen Rankings.
That might not sound like a major accomplishment, but one must know this Chosen Ranking list consisted of both the Maple Continent and the Star Bound Continent geniuses.
To say the number of genius Chosens between the two continents was a lot, was a major understatement.
“We’re approaching the wall!”
As Hao Yu’s identity circulated in the crowd of disciples, no one had time to further ask what he meant by his words as they were about to pass over the wall. Surely he wouldn’t say them for no reason, right?
Apprehension rose up in some disciples' hearts as the flying ship make its way across the wall.
Immediately, each and every disciple on the ship had their faces go deathly pale. Whether they were on the deck or in the limited amount of cabins on board, no one was exempt from feeling this horrifying power enveloping them.
Some weak will disciples even clutched their heads and began crying out in a wretched voice.
Pandemonium occurred all across the ship but a slightly old hunched back female elder's voice suddenly boomed out.
“Bare with the pain! Don’t try to resist it or else it would be even more painful!”
The disciples who were still conscious heeded her words and they tried not to resist the power.
But it was difficult. It felt like something was crawling its way inside their head and then began viciously digging around.
Even their Dantians were being violated in the same way. This power made them feel fear, helplessness, and extreme terror.
Truthfully, even if they wanted to fight back against this force, they absolutely couldn’t.
Though thankfully, the ship's speed increased and passed through the red barrier that became visible as the ship flew by.
Although merely a couple of seconds had gone by, to the disciples it felt like hours or even days.
A few elders went around to check on the unconscious disciples to make sure they were okay. They weren't injured or anything, they only fainted due to shock.
A few disciples who heeded Hao Yu’s words had steeled themselves for something to happen even though they didn’t know what. Due to this, they were better off than most/
Some had indeed soiled themselves as Hao Yu had said.
But no one could laugh at these people as they all faced the power of the grand formation just now and knew how terrifying it was.
Thanks and appreciation from these disciples began to spill towards Hao Yu, who hadn’t moved from his position or flinched.
He didn’t really respond to these disciples’ thanks since he didn’t say what he said to warn them.
And though he was putting on a calm bravado, his heart was still pounding erratically and his back was drenched in sweat. Hao Yu's folded his hands under his armpits so he could hide them from trembling.
“Hm?”
As Hao Yu was trying to calm down, he suddenly saw something that shocked him when he swept his gaze across the crowd to examine the various disciples.
About sixty meters away from him, he saw six people standing upright like him.
But this wasn’t what shocked him since a few more people were like him, who had come to the borders on missions before.
For Hao Yu, it was to hunt sea-type Spirit Beasts to tame them.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmWhat shocked Hao Yu about these six people was that relative to him and the other people like him, these seven demeanor were too tranquil. It was to an absurd degree that Hao Yu began wondering if they hadn’t just experienced what he and everyone else just experienced.
And although Hao Yu couldn’t see the face of one of them due to a veiled hat, while another one who was wearing unfamiliar golden robes was paled face, Hao Yu could still tell they weren’t as affected by passing through the barrier.
Hao Yu wondered if they pass through this barrier so many times that they have gotten used to it.
But that didn’t make any sense to him. He had come to the Southern Border on numerous occasions and had even visited the other borders that had the same barrier, but each and every time he passed through the barrier terror would wash over him.
This feeling wasn’t something that could be easily suppressed either. The only feeling that could come close to it was if you were in a life-and-death situation.
That was why those garden flower disciples had fainted and even shit their pants, they had no experience in any life-threatening danger.
Unbeknownst to Hao Yu, the six figures that turned out to be Lihua and the group, had faced similar pressure as this. It was the Heavenly Calamity.
But compared to the pressure the Heavenly Calamity was giving off, this barrier felt significantly weaker compared to it. So even though they hadn’t directly faced the Heavenly Calamity, just being inside of it had tempered their minds so much that something weaker pressuring it wouldn’t be a problem for them to handle.
“Is everyone alright?”
Fei Yin turn and asked everyone, still concerned.
Jun and Fang Chen nodded but Yang Su remain quiet. Though Fei Yin took that as a yes.
As for a pale face Tai, Lihua upon seeing his appearance frowned and said.
“Why did you appear?”
While breathing heavily, Tai responded.
“Y-You, you think I wanted to? If I hadn’t come out of my pocket dimension that force would have killed me when it forcefully destroyed it.”
“I warned you about it, but you boasted that you can get through any grand formation at your current level.”
Tai pouted. How could he have imagined the grand formation to have such a strong space disruption runes inscriptions? Even peak Soul Transformation Realm cultivators can’t teleport past the barrier because of them, much less him who was not just a bit lacking.
As Tai was about to protest, an angry shout came from the hunched-back elder who was checking on the unconscious disciples.
“Hey, you! Who are you?! You aren’t a Disciple of our Celestial Academy!”
Tai immediately flinched at that and went to hide behind the group.
As the elder took a step and appeared near the group, Lihua stepped forward to talk to her.
It took a lot of convincing, but when it was mentioned that Tai was actually a Spirit Beast and that he even had a Chosen token, the elder first looked shocked and couldn’t help but send out her Divine Will.
Realizing Tai’s aura fluctuations indeed belong to a beast’s own instead of a human's, the elder finally relented to let Tai stay. He was technically a Spirit Beast pet so she couldn’t do anything if it wanted to accompany its master.
The elder didn’t bother to ask how it was possible for Tai to have a human form or why he had a Chosen token. These questions weren’t important enough for an esteemed elder like herself to stoop so low as to pry into some juniors matter shamelessly.
