There was a loud barking of dogs and occasionally meows from all around. However, the meowing was not the soft
meowing of heiresses' pet cats.
The sound was shrill like the crying of a child. It was so harsh in the middle of the night that it sent chills down one's

Sean had no idea where Yvonne had gone and could only lead Zander through the alleys to find her, but he was not
worried.
The slum was not particularly large. Factories and mines covered the borders. Only the middle part was residential
areas.
Yvonne was not an idiot. There was no way she would run to the borders in the middle of the night.
Therefore, they would find her if they kept looking.
The night grew darker.
There was neither moonlight nor starlight tonight, and the slum did not have streetlights everywhere like downtown,

Yvonne walked on. The darkness surrounded her like a tidal wave, and she could hardly tell the direction. She knew
