Chapter 1806

Sophia didn’t want to be at odds with her father at such a time. She got up to leave, but then she paused,

remembering something she needed to ask.

“By the way, Dad, have you found Bertha and Lea yet?”

Thaddeus replied with a noncommittal grunt. “They’ll be back in a few days.”

Sophia furrowed her brows. “Really? Where are they?”

Thaddeus looked at her with a warning in his eyes. “I finally managed to appease Bertha. Don’t start trouble again!

If you don’t want to live peacefully with Bertha, I won’t force you. We can just avoid each other!”

Sophia sensed trouble. “Dad, what do you mean by ‘avoid each other’? Are you planning to live with Bertha and

abandon me?”

Even though he saw the tears welling up in his daughter’s eyes, Thaddeus was no longer moved. “I didn’t say that!

Stop jumping to conclusions and crying every time! Enough! This is getting annoying! Go to your room and sleep!”

Sophia was taken aback. Her tears, it seemed, no longer had any effect on her father. The tears on her cheeks felt

embarrassingly out of place.

Without a word of comfort from her father, Sophia wiped her tears, swallowed her anger, and left the room.

Humph! It must be Bertha and her daughter again. They must have said something to make her father grow colder

towards her.

It must be!

Just wait. Once she settled her current predicament, she would deal with Bertha and her daughter.

A day later.

The earliest flight to M State flew across the sky before the sun had fully risen, leaving a beautiful arc in its path.

As the sun slowly rose, a couple in a church made their vows before a priest. They promised to stay together, in

sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, until death do them part.

The crowd clapped and cheered, deeply moved by their vows. As the newlyweds kissed, feathers floated down

around them. It was a beautiful sight.

The wedding was beautiful. Veronica, hand in hand with her boyfriend, Moran, approached the bride, Belinda, to

ask for the details of the wedding planner. “Hey, Belinda! Who did your wedding decorations? It’s so beautiful! You

have to give me their contact!”

Belinda, holding a glass of red wine, had just finished toasting the guests when Veronica intercepted her. She wasn’t

particularly close with Veronica, but she was in high spirits today. She looked at the handsome young man next to

Veronica and raised an eyebrow. “Why? Are you two thinking of tying the knot too?”

Veronica blushed. She was a straightforward person who often spoke without thinking. She had asked Belinda about

the wedding planner because she genuinely thought the decorations were beautiful, not because she was planning

her own wedding.

After seeing Veronica blush, Moran smiled a little shyly. “We haven’t decided yet, but we might need it someday.

Could you please give us the information?”

Belinda was impressed by the polite, well-mannered, and sunny young man. “I didn’t expect Veronica, of all people,

to find such a great boyfriend. What did you see in her? Do you know what she’s really like? It’s not too late to back

out now.”

Veronica was flustered. She quickly moved to shield Moran from Belinda’s joking remarks. “Belinda, what are you

doing? Today is your big day; you should be accumulating good karma. Why are you trying to break us up?”

It was clear that Veronica was genuinely worried. She was never very confident around Moran, always fearing that

he would leave her.
