Chapter 1871
Theo didn’t say a word, but his foot on the gas pedal told a different story.
Balfour and Byran in the back seat remained silent, but they were surprised by Ellinor’s computer skills. She was
able to locate a phone number so quickly.
Byran, particularly impressed with this kind of computer skill, leaned forward from the back seat to have a look at
Ellinor’s computer screen and was taken aback.
“Sis! You… you’re actually the Snow Bunny!”
Ellinor didn’t have time to deal with his irrelevant emotions. She shot him a glance. “Just sit quietly and don’t make
noise!”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtByran resignedly pouted and returned to his seat, but his admiration for his sister only intensified.
Damn, his idol was actually his own sister.
This was truly beyond belief.
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
In the outskirts of Greenhaven, near Barren Mountain, a middle-aged man was swatting away the buzzing
mosquitoes near a cave entrance after taking a
call from his former boss.
Patricia emerged from the cave, looking at him suspiciously. “Who were you talking to?”
The man chuckled. “There’s no one else here but us. I just took a call.”
“What? A call? Didn’t I tell you to throw your phone into the river? You didn’t throw it away?!” Patricia frowned in
annoyance.
The man was nonchalant. “This phone’s pretty expensive. It would be a waste to throw it away.”
Patricia was exasperated. “Don’t you know we can be traced by its signal?”
The man thought Patricia was being overly cautious. “But I have a lot of important contacts stored on that phone.
What if my family has an emergency and they need to call me? I can’t just abandon my own affairs for your sake!
Besides, I don’t think they’ll find us; they don’t even know we know each
other!”
Patricia was irked but didn’t have the energy to explain everything to this man. “Tell me, who was it that just called
you and why!”
The man honestly replied, “It was the lady who owned the fast-food joint we used to work at. She called me to

Patricia felt like something was off. She grabbed his phone to check the time and date and immediately said,
“Damn! We’re not safe here anymore! We need to leave now!”
The man, feeling weary, didn’t want to move. “Patricia, I think you’re overthinking it. Who’d find us here in the wild
of Barren Mountain so quickly? And in the middle of the night, no less. Where would we go? I spent enough energy
just carrying that kid up the mountain today; I can’t walk anymore.”
Patricia urgently said, “You have to walk even if you can’t! You fool, we’ve been discovered, and you don’t even
know it!”
The man still thought Patricia was making a big deal out of nothing. “Discovered by whom?”
“You really are brainless! Why would the lady from the fast-food joint call you to collect your salary at this time? The
restaurant is closed at this hour! Today isn’t even payday; are you dumb? Someone must have tracked us down to
the restaurant!”
