The crowd of Quasi-Emperors were unable to maintain composure.
The battle prowess displayed by every horrific creature wasn’t inferior to any of them. In fact, they may even be even stronger.
The snow-white bird was a born-ferocious, strange species that had realized its dao in the ancient era.
However, a single blow of the celestial phoenix had sent it flying.
That black giant ape had a much higher background and even stronger fighting power, having slaughtered uncountable powerful enemies when it had been certified as a Quasi-Emperor.
But it had been scared into retreating without a real fight!
“Those lost souls have been hibernating in the Ten Thousand Tribulation Abyss, suppressed by its restrictive power, so why…are they here?” whispered someone.
“It’s that lamp.” A cultivator seemed to have figured it out as their eyes were fervently fixed on the Blameless Lamp in Lin Xun’s hand.
The rest instantly looked over.
Before their spirit senses could probe the lamp, an invisible force blocked them.
Since the divine senses of these Quasi-Emperors were capable of killing, Lin Xun would have been squashed to death by the horrifying pressure if they were to land on him!
Therefore, the cracked heart had acted before that could happen. It wasn’t out of consciousness, but instead an instinctual response.
The Blameless Lamp was the hope of the horrific creatures, and Lin Xun – the holder – was their guide!
Seeing this, the expressions of the Quasi-Emperors changed again, their gazes flickering.
Perhaps because the difference in strength was too great, Lin Xun hadn’t noticed a thing. His mind was entirely on the battlefield not far away.
“Die!!” shouted Lin Xun as he shot toward Wu Jiuzhong.
In normal circumstances where he was provoked by an ant like Lin Xun, Wu Jiuzhong would have killed him without batting an eye.
However, at this moment, he couldn’t be so indifferent because there were seven horrific creatures rushing toward him alongside Lin Xun.
“Hmph!” With an icy expression, Wu Jiuzhong took out a bone sword and slashed at Lin Xun through the air.
The one who reacted was the skeletal giant in tattered armor. He reached for the broken sword on his back and deployed a simple, horizontal slash.
This slash seemed to carry the power of all the dao in the universe, and it pressed the void into exploding. Its suprsword qi directly crushed Wu Jiuzhong’s bone sword into dust.
Its momentum didn’t wane and instead continued to sweep toward Wu Jiuzhong!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWu Jiuzhong’s face twisted slightly as he pushed his palm forward to meet the sword qi and dissolve it. However, he was also shaken and stumbled a little.
Wu Jiuzhong’s mind trembled. It was simply unimaginable that a being, having lost all flesh and blood and left with only a skeleton, could possess such a shocking mastery of sword dao.
“Die!” Lin Xun charged into the fight without a care.
Furious bellows ensued as Gou Tianxing, the flood-dragon, the bronze ant, and other Quasi-Emperors wasted to tto strike at him.
Anyone else would despair in this situation, but Lin Xun didn’t suffer from the impact as the horrific creatures behind him acted immediately, emitting an aura that belonged to deities waking up from their sleep.
The scene beccomplete chaos.
The battle that was supposed to end with the fall of Zhao Yuanji’s group was thrown into disarray by a single variable.
Unimaginably, this variable cfrom a tiny human that no Quasi-Emperor would normally spare a glance for.
But it happened.
The onlookers in the shadows couldn’t help but frown.
Meanwhile, Wu Jiuzhong’s group was so furious that their faces turned livid. They looked like they were about to vomit blood in frustration.
Zhao Yuanji and his companions, on the other hand, all heaved a sigh of relief. It was an emotional experience to survive a calamity, and it just felt great.
They just hadn’t expected that their ray of life in this life-or-death situation would be Lin Xun – a young man who was yet a Saint!
How many Quasi-Emperors were there in this battle? Saints, Big Saints, and even Saint-Kings couldn’t afford to get involved in it.
But Lin Xun had arrived with a group of horrific creatures and stirred up everything!
Not spending too long on their emotions, Zhao Yuanji’s group seized the opportunity to launch counterattacks alongside the horrific creatures beside Lin Xun.
The land quaked as the battle intensified.
The situation, however, had beccompletely different with Zhao Yuanji’s group breaking out of the dead end. They might even turn the tide.
Although furious and unwilling, Wu Jiuzhong’s group had to accept this.
Lin Xun was originally a bit nervous. After all, this was a battle of Quasi-Emperors. There was only a terrifying torrent of dao powers as far as the eye could see.
It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that just a strand of power would completely wipe him out upon touch!
Fortunately, this never happened.
The broken heart flew close to his head, the blood stains along the cracks streaming out invisible fluctuations that dispelled all attacks for Lin Xun.
Meanwhile, the other six horrific creatures were using their own abilities to deal with Wu Jiuzhong’s group!
Only now did Lin Xun truly realize how powerful they were.
The skeletal giant was unstoppable with the broken sword in his hand. His sword techniques were steady and straightforward, but they had the might to crush everything.
The charred tree’s bare branches, entwined with a destructive aura, was like a divine whip that shattered the air and changed the weather.
The dancing skeletal celestial phoenix emitted a gray misty fire that incinerated the sky.
The attacks of the skeletal serpent, the skeletal fox, and the skeletal soft-shell turtle were no less astonishing.
This was also Lin Xun’s first, up-close experience with the power of Quasi-Emperors that let him understand how horrifying it really was.
He felt overwhelmed and found it impossible to comprehend.
His eyesight and perception were unable to capture the details of the battle and the mysteries contained in the attacks at all.
The reason was simple: his current strength was inadequate in front of the Quasi-Emperor stage.
He finally understood why Zhao Xingye had given up on the great opportunity so decisively, saying it was out of her reach…
Indeed, Saints would be seeking death if they entered Mulberry Woodland!
A ghastly noise resounded as the flood-dragon’s green body was torn open by the skeletal celestial phoenix. Scales and flesh spilled out from the long, bloody wound.
The flood-dragon roared in pain. Its figure then flashed and vanished in the air. It had directly teleported out of the battlefield.
Almost simultaneously, the skeletal giant’s broken sword slashed at the shoulder of a Quasi-Emperor Brute Warrior, dragging out a scarlet trail of blood.
The latter screamed and repeatedly dodged.
Anyone could see that Wu Jiuzhong’s group no longer had the upper hand and was even showing signs of being suppressed.
“Retreat!” shouted Gou Tianxing.
“Go!” shouted Wu Jiuzhong, who also realized that their advantage was gone, and that the consequences would only worsen the longer they fought.
The horrific creatures didn’t chase after them. They silently stood by Lin Xun and guarded him, their mannerisms devoid of any traces of emotions.
Zhao Yuanji’s group didn’t give chase either. They had all been injured heavily during the fight, and it wasn’t easy for them to hold on until now.
Lin Xun was the only one who had sregrets. He could see that if these seven horrific creatures had gone all out, then they could definitely have inflicted heavy damage on Wu Jiuzhong’s group!
The area quieted down. Only chilling winds whistled between heaven and earth.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAlthough the Brute Warriors, the experts of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Races, as well as the flood-dragon and the other powerful beings had withdrawn from the battle, they still hadn’t given up.
They remained in the distance with somber expressions while conversing through voice transmission, obviously unwilling to leave it at this.
Meanwhile, Zhao Yuanji and his companions seized tto heal their wounds.
“Hahaha, I didn’t expect this, I really didn’t expect this at all! You actually saved us this time.” Zhao Tailai grinned from ear to ear. He was covered in blood and cuts, but his jubilance was undiminished.
Zhao Yuanji, the empress, and the principal of Qinglu Academy were also smiling, their hearts were filled with emotion. They, too, had never thought that Lin Xun would bring them such a big surprise – by saving their lives!
“I’m but a fox who borrows the tiger’s might.” Lin Xun smiled wryly.
Zhao Yuanji glanced at the seven horrific creatures by Lin Xun’s side and transmitted his voice, “You’ve been in the Ten Thousand Tribulation Abyss?”
Lin Xun was stunned for a second before he quickly understood. He related his experiences at the White Bone Ropeway to them.
Upon hearing that Lin Xun had been severely injured by the Dark Blood Magi Saint before falling into the Ten Thousand Tribulation Abyss, their faces all flashed with killing intent.
But when Zhao Yuanji heard that the Blameless Lamp had blessed Lin Xun with the protection of these seven horrific creatures, even they were struck by disbelief.
They instantly knew that the Blameless Lamp in Lin Xun’s hand was a precious treasure of extraordinary power!
As they talked, Lin Xun finally understood why Zhao Yuanji’s group had been under siege, and he couldn’t help but feel relieved in his heart.
He had also gone through similar experiences in the past, either over opportunistic fortunes or due to the hatred of others, and had been a target of strikes and sieges.
However, seeing this kind of thing happening to Quasi-Emperors like Zhao Yuanji’s group made Lin Xun feel that the situation was a little surreal.
He then realized that it wasn’t just him, even Quasi Emperors…could be bullied with numbers!
“Not good, they seem to have reached an agreement with those onlookers to attack us together!” The principal suddenly frowned, his eyes fierce as he gazed at the distance.
The powerful beings who had been standing by, had all stepped out from the shadows and headed toward them.
One by one, the snow-white bird, the giant black ape, the fiery-red demonic flower shrouded in a rain of sword qi, and many others all emitted terrifying auras as they approached.
As for Wu Jiuzhong and Gou Tianxing, they looked relieved with smiles on their faces. Clearly, they had convinced those powerful beings to join forces with them!
“Do you see this, Zhao Yuanji? No matter who comes to your rescue, you shall die today!” declared Wu Jiuzhong coldly. “No one here can tolerate an invariable like you to be present in the fight for this great opportunity!”
His voice rumbled throughout the region.
The horrific creatures beside Lin Xun remained silent, seemingly unconcerned about all of this.
The expressions of Zhao Yuanji’s group, on the other hand, sank in unison.
Their enemies still had not given up!
