Chapter 1472 Aurora’s Sorrows
Ian blinked his eyes. For a moment, he really didn’t know how to explain this.
Aurora changed her shoes at the door as she continued, “I think Cindy is a nice lady. I don’t know what has gone
wrong between you two, but you’d better not be too choosy if her family background isn’t the only thing you’re
particular about.” After changing her shoes, she opened the door and left.
Ian knitted his brows as he didn’t understand what the last part of Aurora’s speech meant. Was she speaking up for
Cindy?
He waited for some time before Cindy woke up as well. She came out of the room, looked around, and asked, “Has
Mrs. Morgan gone looking for a house?”
Ian nodded. “She left just a moment ago. I don’t know whether she’ll come back later, though.”
Cindy pulled her hair as she felt somewhat uneasy. “How about we just tell her the truth? I think we’ll give ourselves

Ian smiled, for he found it embarrassing to say that they seemed to have given themselves away already. After a
moment’s pause, he replied, “Let me think about it.”
Truth be told, it wasn’t that he couldn’t tell Aurora the truth, but he was somewhat distrustful of her. After all, they
had never lived together, so he didn’t know whether Aurora was good at keeping secrets. It would be troublesome
if she got drunk as she did last night and let it slip that he and Cindy weren’t really dating. Even the smallest sign of
trouble could ruin a person in show business. If this matter came to light, there would be no way to turn things
around, and the impact on him would be immeasurable.
Cindy couldn’t do anything when Ian said he didn’t want to tell Aurora the truth yet. She could only say, “Just go to
your room and lie down for a while. We’ll be going out a while later.”
Ian was no longer sleepy, though. “Nah, I’m not going to sleep. I’ll go downstairs and take a look to see if there
really are any houses available to rent in this neighborhood.”
Cindy thought for a moment. “In that case, I’ll go downstairs with you to take a look.”
They changed their clothes and went out right away. The neighborhood was large and nicely spruced up with
greenery. There was also a notice board next to every road that led to a house in the neighborhood. Generally,
anyone who wanted to rent out their houses would put up their rental information on the notice board.
Cindy and Ian went out and looked at the notice boards one by one. Indeed, there were houses available for rent,
and there were quite a lot of them.
Ian took a closer look at the rental information about the house nearest to their place. After looking at the house’s
address, he said, “Do you believe that my mom is probably inspecting this house right now?”
Cindy was startled for a moment as she hadn’t thought that much about it. However, she slowly nodded after that
and replied, “Perhaps she is.”
Ian pulled up the collar of his shirt and pulled his cap down. “Why don’t we go over and take a look?”
Cindy couldn’t help but laugh. “Let’s take a look then.”

of getting too close to the house. As they had expected, it didn’t take long before they saw Aurora coming out of a
building with a man who was probably the landlord.
Cindy smacked her lips. “You two have never lived together, but you obviously know her quite well.”
Ian narrowed his eyes upon seeing the smile on Aurora’s face. He recalled how Aurora had behaved after getting
drunk last night—she sat in the car and clung to his arm while speaking in a mumble. She said that she had
dreamed of returning to show business, that she was already estranged from her friends and family because of her
relationship with Bryce, and that her family had pointed at her nose and swore at her when they last met. They said
she had abused her talents and ruined her life for the sake of such a man.
At the time, she rested her forehead on Ian’s shoulder and said with unconcealed sorrow in her voice, “I didn’t
know that at the time. I was too young back then, and I was doing very well in show business; I thought I could get
everything with extreme ease and that these things would always be there. Not only did I play my cards badly, I
even brought you into trouble.”
Ian pursed his lips and watched as Aurora exchanged a few words of greeting with the man who looked like the
landlord. Then, they both walked toward his apartment happily.
