Chapter 1094

“Kevin, what annoys me is your arrogant attitude. You’re acting like you’re better than everyone else!” said

Blake.

Kevin had already entered the elevator and left. Blake, holding her midnight snack, felt her anger dissipate

a bit.

It was almost dawn. What was supposed to be a midnight snack was practically breakfast now.

Irritated, Blake wanted to throw it away. But realizing it was from The Deli, she thought better of it. She

mumbled, “No point wasting free food.”

Suddenly, a noise came from the room. Blake thought something had happened and hurried inside. She found Liam

on the ground, a glassware from the bedside table shattered beside him.

“Liam! What happened?!” Blake quickly helped Liam up and supported him onto the bed.

Exhausted, he coughed and said, “I’m fine. I heard you talking to someone outside. Who is it?”

Blake hesitated before replying, “No one. Just a burglar, but I scared him off.”

Liam asked, “Are you alright? Should we call the police?”

Blake reassured him, “I’m fine. You should get some rest. I’ll get you some water.”

Liam said, “Thanks.”

Blake replied, “Not a problem.”

After she helped him take his medicine and tucked him in, she said, “Rest up. I’ll leave so you can sleep.”

Liam reached out as if to grab something, but his hand slid off the edge of Blake’s sleeve. There was a

hint of sadness on his otherwise composed face.

As soon as Blake reached home, she checked her mobile phone and found a missed call and a message

from Kevin.

In Blake’s eyes, that was typical of Kevin. He was always brief and to the point as if a few extra words

would kill him.

Frustrated, Blake muttered as she gazed at her phone, “Would it kill you to call me more? We’re not even

a couple anymore, so why bother contacting me?”
