The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 523

“Let go of me!” Lana smelled the sickly sweet scent of perfume and a lipstick mark left on his neck, along with a

red mark and rumpled clothing. It was not hard to imagine how intense Wincy and Kai’s actions had been. Lana

struggled. Her gaze at him was blatantly filled with disgust.

Kai asked, “Are you jealous?”

Lana scratched across his face with her fingernail, leaving a mark on his seductive face. Kai was in pain and

released his grip. A hint of gloominess flashed past his eyes. Lana furiously got up from his lap. She adjusted her

clothes before lifting her hand to slap him, “Don’t you dare touch me with your filthy hands!”

Kai’s face was turned to the side after being slapped, but he was not angry. Instead, he smiled as he said, “You’re

too gentle. I prefer it when you’re a bit more forceful.” His gaze was filled with desire, aggressiveness, and

excitement.

Lana frowned tightly. She looked at him as if he were a lunatic, “For the first two accidents, we’ll pretend nothing

ever happened. I won’t compromise even if you try to threaten me with those photos.” She took a deep breath

before continuing, “I’m speaking to you calmly now because you’re Andrew’s brother.

“If you want to get a woman to satisfy your needs, no one at home will stop you. I’m your sister-in-law now, and I’ll

always be!” Lana would not divorce Andrew no matter what happened.

Kai watched her as she left. He ran his thumb across his face. He then looked at the blood on his thumb as he

laughed hysterically.

Lana felt extremely disgusted when she heard the laughter behind her. She walked quicker and went to press the

elevator button to go downstairs.

When she saw the man waiting in a wheelchair at the door, Lana quickly adjusted her emotions before walking

over. Andrew was wearing a mask. Lana moved closer to adjust his scarf, “I’ve talked to Kai about Dad’s situation.

He’ll take care of it.”

Andrew responded, “You don’t need to force yourself to leave if you don’t want to.” Lan said, “Wherever you are,

I’ll be there. We’re husband and wife, aren’t we?”

Andrew replied, “If I can’t recover in six months, I’ll agree to get a divorce. You’ll have your share of the Stewart

family’s wealth, so remarrying won’t affect you too badly.”

Lan felt extremely hurt, “Andrew, no matter what you become, I’ll not divorce you. Even if you can’t recover and

even if we can’t have any children, I’ll forever be your wife. We can adopt children anyway. Let’s not talk about this,

okay?”

The driver walked over to remind them, “Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, we should leave now. The plane is scheduled to

depart in an hour.” Lana responded, “Okay.”

She helped him into the car and sat in the back seat. Actually, there was something that she had not told Andrew.

The Stewart family had previously invested in a company overseas and that company had been doing well, so she

had obtained a permanent resident card. Regardless of whether Andrew’s treatment was successful or not, Lana

did not plan to return to Venturia.

She had made her decision to leave and start over in another place with Andrew. Kai stood in front of the floor-to-

ceiling window upstairs as he watched the familiar car leave. His gaze was intense and mysterious as if there were

hidden thoughts emerging. He thought, ‘It’s not up to you whether we should end it or not… Lana!’

After the car disappeared from his sight, he casually looked away. The Arnold family had begun preparing for the

engagement for a little over a month, and these preparations were all done by Ethan and Evelyn. The invitation

cards for the banquet were written in embossed gold characters. The gold used was genuine. Just one invitation

card was already quite valuable. Madelyn dared not to imagine how extravagant the Arnold family would be on the

day of their wedding.

Ethan wrote the names of various prominent families on the white invitation cards. The guests were all influential

figures from Ventropolis, ranging from government officials to wealthy businessmen, and even the popular actors

and celebrities in the entertainment industry.

Ever since returning from the hospital, Ethan had been busy up until now. He even passed his company affairs to

Leyton to handle.

Madelyn was studying and doing her homework in the study. After she finished her homework, she put down her

pen. She then curiously walked over to grab one of the invitation cards to admire the beautiful, well-written letters

on the card.
