Everyone stopped and stared at the sword worn by the Battle Emperor. They all felt frustrated and disappointed; more so when

they could not do anything about this at all.

The atmosphere that enveloped them felt very strange. Even though the Battle Emperor had already fallen, there was still a strong

tinge of his vital energy all over the place, making it difficult for anyone to touch his body.

Despite this, a stocky, old man, whose curiosity got the best of him, moved and approached the giant skeleton to get a closer look.

The skeleton was massive with a size of at least forty to fifty meters tall and a body of about two to three hundred meters wide.

The body looked like that of a mighty lion, but the head was that of a dragon.

Although what was left were bones and dust, the skeleton still gave out an august aura that made the old man shiver. He moved

his gaze towards its four talons, still tightly clawed on the ground as if any moment, it was going to attack him. Alas, he turned and

stopped his attention on its head, which was held up high as if it died roaring in agony or maybe rage.

The old man placed a hand on his chin and thought out loud, "Hmm, what kind of diabolic beast does this giant skeleton belong to?

| wonder..."

At the old man's remark, everyone else started to grow curious.

Most of the cultivators were at least hundreds of years old now. There years promised them a wide expanse of knowledge and a

whole rich experience regarding these kinds of things, and yet not a single one of them recognized what diabolic beast this

skeleton was before its death.

As everyone else started to move cautiously towards the skeleton to get a better look, the stocky, old man's periphery caught sight

of something laid beneath the front right talon.

"Hold on!" he shouted, stopping everyone from moving closer. "What's that?"

The old man pointed his index finger on the object.

Everyone turned to look at its direction and saw that there was indeed a strange, round grayish object under the right front talon of

the skeleton.

Chatters started to grow as everyone started to guess what it was.

"It looks like an egg. Could it be from the beast?"

someone muttered quite louder than the muffled whispers, making everyone nod and think about the possibility of it being an egg.

It turned out that there was indeed a gray egg the size of an average man's fist beneath the beast's talons. The dullness of its color

made it difficult to be spotted from afar.

Another old man with his head covered with white hair moved closer to the egg and speculated.

"Since it appeared in this palace, it must have been a very powerful diabolic beast when it was still alive.

And if it is really its egg, and if we somehow manage to hatch this egg and tit, we may have ourselves our own powerful

diabolic beast."

As soon as the old man said this, greed immediately shone in everyone's eyes as the thought of having their own tdiabolic

beast was such a great idea.

In the past and even until now, many of the warriors were able to tvarious diabolic beasts they caught, and then they use

them to guard their residence from any other threats.

Now, judging only by the strong and strange aura of this skeleton, it was really an extraordinary creature when it was alive.

Moreover, any diabolic beast found on the center of the Nonuple Isles were different and must be of scharacter.

Whoosh!

In a blink of an eye, a figure flashed pass everyone and reached for the egg. Without any warning, the figure waved his sleeves

and a strand of vital energy force shot towards the egg, intending to strike it out.

Everyone turned towards the culprit and was shocked to see that it was the bald cultivator that had once attempted to murder

Austin and the queen.

The bald cultivator was the type of man that put his own self-interest above anything else, and whenever he caught sight of an

opportunity to profit, he would never pass the chance. He would grab it regardless of who he was going to hurt or what was going

to happen to him. Given the mystifying value of the egg, there was no way he was going to give up that easily.

Roar!

Suddenly, as the vital energy force from the bald cultivator was about to connect with the gray egg, a loud and ground-shaking

roar cfrom the giant skeleton.

A shock wave from the roar blew dust into the air, making everyone gasped and panicked and moved far away from the skeleton

as fast as they could.

Then, the entire platform began to wobble and shake as if an earthquake was happening.

Sran away from the scene, while the rest watched as a tremendous energy like a vast ocean swept from the skeleton and

formed a gigantic and horrifying shadow of a demonic beast. The shadow stopped and looked around, and as soon as it saw the

bald old man, it cstraight towards him.

The bald man stood still in shock. Even though he was a cultivator of the Holy Realm, the sight and power of the shadow horrified

him, and as soon as he regained his consciousness, he left the egg and turned around to lose the shadow that cfor him.

However, no matter how hard the bald man ran, the shadow of the demonic beast still did not look like it was going to give up soon

and continued to chase the bald man. The speed and building strength of the shadow shocked everyone that was left in the scene.

The shadow was so powerful that even a cultivator of the Holy Realm still had not match for it.

As the shadow moved passed, all of them went to the side to dodge it, and not one of them dared to go against the beast head on.

Roar!

The shadow of the demonic beast was now right behind the bald cultivator. As the distance between them grew small, one of its

talons stroke down on his back.

The bald cultivator screamed in pain and shouted in despair,
