"We won't be able to escape using normal means. We will need a carriage that can fit all of them while they lay down," Sauros said. "Aion, can you carry an entire carriage and the horses outside the capital?"
"I am recovering my mana to do that," Aion said. "It might take a while, though. So, you shouldn't rely solely on me to solve this problem."
"The problem is, where are we going to find a carriage?" Seris asked. "It is only a matter of time until the enemies find us here."
"I saw one and some horses on the back of that guy's house…" Sauros said.
"Good, no one will expect to see us returning to the crime scene," Aion said. "Just give me a few minutes for that."

"Call me that again, and I will kick your guts," Aion said while frowning.
"I was trying to praise you…" Sauros said.
Although he phrased it in the wrong way, Sauros meant that Aion was resourceful. Their ability to control time was powerful, but it was rather limiting. In any case, it didn't take long for them to notice the noise of footsteps approaching alongside the sound of armor clashing. Aion wouldn't have enough time to gather all the mana he needed… in the end, he made everyone fly to the hole in the roof, and when the enemy soldiers began to hit on the entrance of the warehouse, he sent a fireball toward the underground prison.
Aion's ice magic prevented some metals from creating sparks that would make the gas inside explode, but his fireball did that. While the warehouse was trembling, the enemy soldiers stopped moving. They raised their guards, while Aion and the others returned to the house they had attacked earlier. Most of the guards weren't there, and the ones left behind were guarding the entrance.
"If stupidity could kill…" Aion thought.
Aion landed everyone on the back of the house, and then their arrival made the horses wake up and grunt a little, but Sauros went to calm them down while Seris was dealing with the carriage. Aion had a few minutes to get more mana, but the atmosphere of the place made him frown and messed with his focus. Something in the whole city changed…
"We need to hurry up," Aion said.
The other two nodded. It seemed that they felt something weird in the air as well. When the carriage was ready, and they began to put the unconscious allies inside it, they suddenly heard something grunting. The number of grunts increased… which wasn't a good side. Aion recalled that they also used to sell monsters in such a country.
When the grunts began to get too close, Aion made the carriage and the horses fly, and then they left as fast as possible. The horses complained for a while, but no one had time to hear them. While they were crossing the sky, Aion had the chance to see everything below. He also saw some big ass dogs heading in the same direction as them… in the darkness of the night, Aion was sure that no one below could see them. The smell also wasn't on the ground, so that didn't make any sense.
"Those are the rancid bloodhounds… they have the ability to track their targets just by feeling the smell of their mana once," Sauros said and then clenched his teeth. "They are extremely violent and strong."
Although they were heavy, three meters long red monsters, they couldn't run as fast as Aion could fly… so putting some distance between them was impossible. To make things worse, they will have to land pretty soon since Aion was out of mana, and while carrying so many people, the horses won't outrun them…

They barely crossed the walls when Aion felt his mana reaching dangerous levels, so he quickly looked for a place to land. After that, Sauros took the rein in things and then made the horses run as fast as possible. When they reached the nearest road, Aion also saw some guards on horses following the rancid bloodhounds.
Aion made his longbow appear, and then he aimed at one of the monsters that were approaching. When he jumped to the back of the carriage, Aion changed his aim and then hit one of the guards that were following them on horses. When the horseman fell, the horse also lost control and got in the way of some pursuers, but they soon recovered.
Two of the bloodhounds began to get too close, and Aion finally saw how scary those creatures were. Their fur and eyes were red, but they had some scary sharp claws and fangs, big enough to be considered as long as short spears.
Aion aimed and fired on the face of the nearest monster, but the creature reacted and then used its fangs to block the attack.
"Son of a bitch…" Aion said while frowning.
Aion nocked another arrow, but then Seris approached and then fired something that Aion was unable to see by using her hands. The impact didn't happen instantly, but it was powerful enough to send the monster flying in the opposite direction and then hit a horseman.
"You know the technique that lets you put more power overtime on an arrow, right?" Seris asked. "I will help you with that,"
She probably couldn't attack like that before so often, so she decided to help Aion. While he was charging Power Shot, she touched his right arm, and then Aion felt his stamina being drained and then stopped. When Aion fired the next arrow, the monster tried to do the same as before, but its fangs were destroyed, and then the projectile pierced the monster's brain…
