Part 3 Chapter 9

Nora’s POV

We are running around like headless chicken, trying our hardest to prepare for everything. I smiled as I saw the king cout of Melinda’ s room without the dress bag. He seemed shocked to seethere but I just nodded at him before going to the library.

In the library I was searching for this book that Mia once mentioned. I thought I would do Melinda’s biological mother a favor and reveal who her true mate was. But instead I find elder William sitting on the couch like he was waiting for me.

“Ssecrets would have been best to remain hidden you know” he sighs and I feel uncomfortable in the way he speaks.

“What do you mean?” I ask him and he looks sad.

“She was your mate, wasn’t she? Melinda’s biological mother?” I ask him and he looks atand nods.

“But, what about Ben’s mother? He toldthat you guys were not fated?” I ask confused and elder William chuckles.

“Of course not but then again I never loved anyone either. You see, when you first chere and healed those rogue lycans I thought that finally. I would finally be freed from this everlasting curse of emptiness. But I guess you never noticed or I wasn’t just as interested as you didn’t notice it.” he mumbles and I am having a hard tto keep up

*Nora, something isn’t right. You should call for Helios or Daniel. I

don’t like this* Aurelie raises her shackles and tucks her tail under her stomach.

But I am way too curious for my own good so I stay where I am and just look at him.

“Chere, Nora and I will explain to you. I cannot harm you, I am way too old for that sort of thing you know” he says with a pleading voice and I walk nearer him.

I don’t heed Aurelie or Lillie’s warnings in twhen he suddenly grabsand pullsagainst him. He bares his fangs and markson the spot where Ares’ mark lays and I black out from the creeping cold energy that comes from the mark.

*Inside of elder William’s memories*

I sit up on the ground right outside the castle but as I look up at it, it feels way bigger than before. It’s cold and i shiver, well actually it’s summer but the energy that surroundsmakesshiver.

I look around and find a younger version of Ben, no wait, that isn’t Ben but he does resemble him. It must be Elder William then? But I thought he was ancient so this must be around 500 years ago or something.

I try to warm my arms up as I shiver again but it’s like I can’t touch myself. Am I just like a ghost, passing through these memories?

If this was Seline’s gift then I don’t want it. This feels very strange tohere. But I continue to look around and then I give up and follow the younger version of Ben instead. But he stops and turns around and stares right through me.

“Why are you following me?” he asks and I look behindjust to see a palace knight. I huff, I thought he sawfor a moment there but I

guess I was wrong in believing that.

The knight never answers him so Ben continues to walk towards the forest but instead of coming inside the forest the palace knight stays just outside of it. I find it strange but I am following Ben anyway.

I try to find a way to speak with him but he seems to not be listening or he can’t hear me. Ben stops at a small creek and I can see that there are sanimals here when I suddenly feel sick to my stomach at the sight when he grabs a bunny by its scruff and tears its head off.

He does so with every animal he can find and he just looks down at them with hollow eyes like he cant feel anything at all. Once again I shiver and I try to rub my chest when I notice that my top is gone. Sh it? What happened?

*Aurelie? Lillie? Can you hear me?* I try to speak with them but there is only rasilence and here I thought that we were one.

“Why are you half naked?” Ben suddenly asks and I turn around to see the one that is half naked but he must have been meaningbecause this tit is only the two of us.

“Can you see me” I ask and he nods

“Yes, and I can hear you as well but why are you naked?” he asks again and I don’t like that look in his eyes. Like he wants to devouror something and I don’t mean it by a sexual meaning.

“Why did you kill those animals?” I ask him and he look at the bunny closest to his feet and he shrugs

“I can’t feel anything and my mother said that if I can’t feel anything towards an animal that I hurt then I am a bad person” he explains and the realization dawns on me.

“That mark of yours, don’t belong to your fated one” he says and points. at elder Williams and I shake my head.

“Are you in pain?” he asks and I think but I shake my head slowly.

“But you are bleeding on your stomach” he suddenly says and a chill goes throughas I look down. I have a hole in my stomach.

“Well to tell you the truth, in the twhere I cfrom someone is hurtingand I don’t know how to stop them. “I explain and he seems to think when he suddenly stretches out a hand and touches my

arm.

I was about to say that he can’t touchbut he can and I feel my body becoming solid and with that I can feel all the pain washing over me. And I scream.

“Be quiet, my father can fix this but you have to promiseto never tell anyone about him” he says and I nod my head when I suddenly feel a grip on my breast and a claw that is slicing between them down to my navel

He grabs my hand and we start running through the forest to a small cottage and a man comes out.

“Ben, where have you been and who is that and why is she naked?” he asks and finds a piece of clothing that he drapes around me.

“This is a girl I met at the castle and a guy that isn’t her mate has marked her and sent her here and now he is hurting her. Can you help please, papa” he pleads with his father and he nods.

But the moment his father touchesI scream and I am sent out of the memories and I once again look up at the ceiling in the library. Elder William is shocked to seebut I am even more shocked to see what he is holding in his hands.
