Chapter 498 498: Stowaway
For one Cole did not think he was fair that Azrael was so particularly stealthy. Even with [Erasure] Cole could not deliver the absolute elimination of presence like Azrael was able to do with whatever skill he was utilizing. But regardless at this rate, Azrael would be out of here and Cole would have to live his life in worry, not knowing when the damn assassin would be back.
He leapt over the barrier as poured more than half his current energy pool into Black Malakai and swung it, as hard as he could, drawing lore than enough power from [Gravity Rings] and kinetic stat. As he poured it all into the skill.
[Black Cut]
A greyish black crescent beam of light was released from the sword that swiftly traveled the distance to slash two of the combined zombies. Cole was only able to kill one as the other just developed superficial damage that in Cole's very eyes, began to heal. The split half of the first now did the one thing you don't want divided bodies that should be dead to do….Combine again.
Getting through these guys would take way too much time, if he has to fight them head on. And given how strong they seemed, not to mention the giant octopus at the other end. He needed to hit them extremely hard and extremely quickly to be able to get through, or at least do something large enough that would clear him a path.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt[Gravity Rings]
This time the rings appeared in front of him, three concentric spinning circles of golden haloes, that released power with every second as they begin to spin, each ring feeding power into the next and amplifying the power of gravity to a whole other level. But Cole was far from done as he used.
[Storm Calling]
Summoning the technique right within the confines of the first ring which had been expanded to about a meter in size. And considering how much Cole has been relying on this Technique so far, his control over it had definitely improved. He was sure there was a notification about that, in the streams of notifications he was currently avoiding due to being in the middle of a fight.
A turbulent storm cloud appeared right in the middle of the base ring as Cole changed the flow of gravity within it to simultaneously hold it in place and increase the force being placed on it from behind. In Cole's vision Azrael was still running and was already close to the platform, but no matter, his modified storm cannon was ready.
Cole contracted a great deal of power, once again placing the power of a thousand bolts into one, using Gravity to compress and vibrate the individual molecules of the lightning to make it even more erratic. Then he let it go, letting it move into the second ring that borrowed from the momentum of the first ring to blast it into the third much expanded ring.
The lightning built for a few seconds, releasing dull sounds of thunder rumbling before blasting out with a fury and force that pushed Cole back a bit. But as for the living things caught in its path, all that was left were half charred remains, usually their bottom half, as the beam traveled through the terminal to bore a hole into the Giant Octopus, exploding it in a shower of gore, blood and guts.
What was left of the beam now severely weakened went on and smashed Azrael in the back, flinging his body forwards just in time for the train to move past and him to slip into one of it's entrance. Cole cursed as he blasted forwards, a sonic boom left behind as the train went by a few coaches before he reached the platform. He was about to jump into the train when the last coach went past him, and the Train began to meander and pick it's way back up into the sky and the Rift it just came out of.
Cole did not have any other choice as he jumped off the platform and blasted off the air with [Gravity Rings] leaving a sonic boom behind, that rattled the foundations of the terminal and the remains of it's guardians. The terminal shook, as it began to crumble as Cole not even sparing it a glance began to draw in his Kinetic stat, sending it into overdrive as the power he had built from leaping into the air at such speeds was fed back into his body, turning him into a beam of light, chasing after an equally brighter beam of light in the form of the train.
*Boom! Boom! Boom!*
Cole went to Mach 4 in quick succession, the increase in speed almost enough to start causing a strain to Cole, even through his armor. But the train sensing Cole's approach began to speed up, moving even faster towards the rift as Azrael got more and more away from Cole.
But more than that would be the chance to escape from this place. He created [Gravity Rings] about to boost himself even further when a Gravity storm surged from the left and grabbed him, flinging him in a parabolic arc as the train's front began to disappear through the rift. Cole didn't fight, he took one step on the air, grey fog and black and white lightning dancing around his feet as he blurred forward.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmCole left a trail of black and white flames that hung like jagged splits in reality. His speed extremely immense and still drawing powerful from the Kinetic stat, this time in greater burst, Cole smashed into the last coach, just as the train went through the rift.
His body smashed through the door, going through the entire coach, and smashing through to the next one, the impacts leeching off the excess kinetic stat energy he had gained until he came to a painful stop after smashing his head on one of the hand holds, careening his body to the left to an empty seat, as his face came to a stop against the window, cracking it when his head hit it.
"Oww!"
"Oww!"
Cole and Lyren cried out at the same time, as they turned themselves over. Cole would have loved to get back up to his feet but considering what he just did to get into this train, perhaps it would be best for him to take a minute and catch his breath. There was no where else for Azrael to fucking run to.
*Click!*
"If you make a single move I'll blow your head of! Now who the fuck are you and what are you doing on my train!"
