Chapter 1075 Impossible
Jenny's words were spot on, and Gilbert was left stunned and speechless.
It would be best if the child wasn't his so there would be no problems. However, if that
wasn't the case...
Gilbert refused to think of the possibility.
"No idea because the child can’t possibly be mine,' Gilbert insisted. Nobody knew if he
truly thought that way or simply refused to accept reality.
Frustrated, Jenny said, "Gilbert, you can use amniocentesis for a paternity test while the
child is still in the womb."
"What do you mean, Jenny? Are you convinced that the child is mine?" Gilbert was
unhappy. Why did everyone assume that the child belonged to him just because Marigold

Jenny sighed, trying to keep herself composed. "Gilbert, even though this matter isn't
certain, you need to decide. If the child is yours, what do you plan to do?”
That was what she wanted to know.
"Regardless of whether the child is mine or not, I wont accept it." He made his stance
clear. For one, he didn't think the child was his. Even if it was, he wouldnt acknowledge it.
Before Jenny could say more, Gilbert added, "Tell Marigold that if the child is mine, she
should abort it as soon as possible. Otherwise, I won't acknowledge the child even if she
gives birth to it!’
"Gilbert..." Jenny didn't know how to respond.
"Am I too heartless?" Gilbert asked.
Jenny kept her mouth shut, silently agreeing.
Gilbert smiled bitterly. "Jenny, think about it from a different perspective. If you were
drugged and became pregnant, would you accept it if the other person asked you to keep
the child?'
His words seemed to make Jenny understand him a little better. However, she still had her
own beliefs. "I was thinking, Gilbert, that you don't have someone you like, so why not try
to like Marigold? If it works out-"
"That's impossible!" Gilbert interrupted. "If you were in my shoes, would you like such a
woman?’
Before Marigold plotted against him, he had no feelings for her. He neither liked nor
disliked her. However, ever since the incident, he had grown to detest her. Even hearing
her name irritated him, let alone being with her.
Jenny had nothing to say.

Zack noticed her gaze and finally put his cutleries down. "Gilbert, I think if you don't like
her, you need to deal with the issue of the child as soon as possible. Otherwise, there will
be endless troubles."
"Zack!" Jenny shouted. She had asked him to persuade Gilbert to accept the child.
Uncomfortable, Zack explained, "Jenny, I think Gilbert is right. No one would like Marigold
if they were in Gilbert's shoes.’
"That doesn't mean we must get rid of the child!" Jenny was displeased.
"Well, before the child is born, all problems can be resolved. But once it was, who knows
what Marigold will do? What if she uses the child against Gilbert? Aren't we enabling her if
we do nothing about it?"
Zack understood Gilbert's concerns. He didn't hold Marigold in good regard to begin with,
and the actions she had taken were simply distasteful.
