Chapter 882 What Lead
Jenny didn't see the couple fight. She was staring at Alec. "How is the food? It isn't too
bad, is it?" "It's pretty good. It's no wonder you come here often,’ he said.
Jenny pouted, still feeling a little embarrassed. 'I'm sorry. I'm not refusing you on purpose.
I just haven't thought it through yet."
"I know." Alec smiled. He understood her inner struggles. If it were him, he'd be struggling
to make a decision, too. He wouldn't know if he were a reliable shoulder to cry on.
Jenny opened her mouth, wanting to say something. But the more she looked at Alec, the
harder it was to speak.
"You don't have to overthink it. Go with the flow. I'd still be a pretty confident person." Alec
smiled. He believed that Jenny liked him, so he didn't worry too much.

In the Watkins' residence, Blake watched as the news on the Fausts was deleted one by
one. She couldn't help guessing what the family was like now.
Who had killed Xavier?
She knew she couldn't just sit there waiting to die. So, she got up from her room and
walked to the one next to it.
"Mom." She pushed the door open.
Her mother beckoned for her to sit next to her. ’You haven't been going out lately. Are you
still angry because your father and grandfather refused to let you get involved in the
family business?"
"No.* Blake shook her head. She was angry still, but she couldn't admit it.
"I know you feel upset, but the family can only have one heir. You know this. " And it was
to be Blake's brother, not her.
Blake pouted, saying nothing. She changed the topic. "Mom, that's the last thing on my
mind. I was just here to ask you about the Fausts. You know, Alec and I..."
She didn't finish her sentence. Her mother would understand what she meant.
Her worry, however, didn't arise from her concern for Alec. Instead, she wanted to see if
there was any way that she could add fuel to the fire. After all, Alec had betrayed her, and
she hadn't yet exacted her revenge.
That was right. In her eyes, what Alec had done was a betrayal. They had agreed to
cooperate and benefit each other. But then, he bit her off. He had betrayed her trust.
Seeing that Blake wasn't angry, Mrs. Watkins felt at ease. "It's complicated. Xavier has
suddenly been murdered, and Zeke has been investigating the murder these past few
days. Apparently, they have a lead.’
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"What lead?" Blake asked.
"They've caught a few people." Mrs. Watkins didn't know much. These were all what her
husband had told her.
Blake frowned. That didn't seem right. "Those people were just lackeys. The real criminal
is the mastermind behind it."
"That's right. But how can they be found so easily? If they dared to commit such a thing,
they were confident they would never be found," Mrs. Watkins said.
Blake considered it for a moment and asked, "Doesn't Zeke have suspects? Yakov and Alec
stand to benefit the most from all of this.
Doesn't he suspect them?"
"He probably does. However, they don't have any evidence. Plus, his son was killed. He
probably wouldn't want his other son to pay with his life." Mrs. Watkins thought that even
if it was found to be Yakov, they wouldn't demand that justice be served.
