"I'm Dan, many people call me Dan," the expert said, stretching his hand forward again. "Don't worry it's for real this time," he assured, and Noah immediately took his hand in a handshake.
"I'm Aiden," he said for curtsy's sake.
"We know. I'm certain you're well aware of your popularity. You've managed to gain the respect of people who are in far higher positions than you, but they can't show it, at least not yet. So get strong," Dan explained.
Noah could only nod in response, but his mouth opened to speak. "How do I address you?" Noah asked feeling it awkward to call him by his name.
"Just call me Dan, I don't find enforced honoraries interesting," the expert shrugged floating towards Elder Sarah.
"I'm Anna by the way. You can also call me by my name. Someone with such a face is allowed to not use honoraries. Right, Sarah!" She giggled mischievously at Elder Sarah; who put on her poker face.
Noah on the other hand found their interaction warming. However, he soon snapped back to the reason they were there.
"Did he see the spirit," Dan conveyed through his mental waves, he had to be careful with how much he said.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt "Yes he saw the spirit," Elder Sarah said out loud startling her friends.
"He's a true genius then," Anna muttered in surprise, placing her hand on her opened mouth.
"Tell me he's the one you're taking in as your successor!" Anna exclaimed before clasping her hand on her mouth, however, Elder Sarah had already appeared above her floating figure to deliver a downward kick on her haired head.
The expert didn't move an inch after the blow but held her head in a pouting expression. Sarah's figure flickered on the ground and she marched towards the exit of the place. On her way out, however, she called Anna a dummy multiple times.
Needless to say, Noah felt stunned. It seemed there was more to that situation than he expected. 'A successor,' Noah thought wondering if that word meant something different in Cregar.
Quickly exiting the water seeing as Anna had rushed towards Elder Sarah's figure.
Dan glanced at Noah as he hastily tried to put on his boots to catch up with his soon-to-be master.
"I hope you won't hurt her," Dan suddenly spoke causing Noah to freeze on his spot.
"I don't understand," Noah responded even if he gained a vague idea of what the man meant.
A sigh escaped the expert's mouth but he said nothing and simply flew towards his departing companions.
'What sort of emotional mess have I gotten myself into?' Noah wondered feeling slightly stressed.
He eventually caught up with them, but he limited himself to walking behind them. As Dan and Anna hovered beside Elder Sarah, they seemed to converse but only through their mind.
Noah started to think thoughts at that point, and they were mostly because of the spirit. He recalled hearing of that race twice, and that was from the entity that gave him the bracelet and Muillix's description.
'The library is my next target, surely there has to be information I've not heard about in there,' Noah thought determined to know more. The next day would also be the day he would collect the bodies of the beasts, and his Speed force stone which he had decided to name Energy stone would be ready in about ten hours.
So many things were going on in his life that Noah found it hard to keep up. He would need a proper schedule to keep his life in order.
"What are you doing over there," Elder Sarah eventually called out, pulling Noah out of his deep thoughts.
Performing a short jog toward their position, Noah walked on the same lane and at the same pace with them, but nobody said anything to themselves for a while.
"You have to return to your quarters in the inner regions, I have important work to do,' Elder Sarah eventually said. "However I expect you back at my mansion three days from now, after which you might not return for months," she explained not even focusing her gaze on him.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmNoah continued to nod his head in response even if he didn't like the schedule. It seemed he would need to do whatever he needed in that short period.
"Why don't you make it a week, we both know how tasking it is working with you, let him have his fun and rest before you take it all away," Dan pleaded on behalf of Noah.
"Bullshit! Five days at most. Any more and he should go find someone else to train him," she snorted.
Needless to say, Noah rejoiced at that addition. Five days would be more than enough to do all that he needed. He planned to get stronger within that period.
Noah departed from the trio at some point, but not before watching them shoot into the sky, going who knew where.
He desired to explore that region but he feared what Elder Sarah would do if she somehow found out about it. There were armored guards everywhere after all.
Crossing the gate wasn't an issue thanks to the ring. Even if no one bowed to him anymore, they still showed him respect. No person had visited Elder Sarah that often without leaving wounded.
She was notorious for her lack of care toward people, but Noah had seen another side of her personality. The side of her had human emotions.
Noah eventually arrived inside his room. He had encountered Ariana, but she had avoided him again. At this point, he had already stopped caring, at least partially. There was too much going on to while away time chasing a person who wouldn't even talk to him.
Noah exited his room to visit a place he could eat, and once again the cuisine of the city managed to wow his taste buds. From there he visited the same tavern he had been to the other time. His time there was made worth it by the fun conversations held by the experts in there.
He eventually returned to his room to rest for the night. But since the city was constantly dark it didn't matter what time of the day it was.
Noah woke up to a shining blue panel that carried exciting words.
