Chapter 619 619. PIPE DREAM
Lady Edna's beast quickly buried itself under the terrain and could resume its travel.
Jumping off the beast's back, Noah had no trouble getting off that 180m tall figure. Tier 5 beasts were literally colossal.
The terrain thrummed with mana and he could sense it by reason of the vibrancy of life around him. The forest featured tall trees that dwarfed their figures.
"Our destination is that way," Lady Edna revealed pointing.
'This will be long,' Noah concluded inwardly, unfolding his consciousness, he managed to gain a rough idea of the various obstacles on the path before them. Thankfully since most of them were terrain-based he knew they could easily deal with them.
The giant centipede's try at burying itself had been loud. Thankfully Lady Edna had been capable of shielding most of it. Unfortunately, even that could not stop cracks from opening in the terrain. It was a beast several kilometers in length after all.
The fifth-tier bird on the other hand would be walking with them. It remained a regal beast, and Noah could communicate with her if he wanted.
"We have some creatures on our trail," Elder Velsvon revealed at some point. He remained unbothered, however.
The expert simply inspected the tall trees, as though he felt curious about them. They reached heights that completely dwarfed them. Only the beast on their side could challenge those gigantic trees.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNoah struggled to keep his attention on all aspects of the area covered with his consciousness. The very ground was at the peak of the fourth tier, and certain portions went above that in terms of quality.
He could begin to absorb the ground around him and find gains, but he would require a whole lot to experience real improvements. He needed fifth-tier materials.
"There's a pressure this place exudes. It might be too much for you-" Noah cut Elder Velsvon short by shaking his head.
"I'm fine," he reassured, walking forward to draw near to Lady Edna. In truth he truly was. Only certain expressions of his existence would be snuffed out despite his normally exceptional skill.
The average fourth-tier expert would be almost completely incapacitated in that environment. The fact that he could even move already spoke of his greatness.
Lush vegetation, cool soft winds, genuinely beautiful scenery, new sights, and an air of peace. All these revolved around that area even if the air of peace remained a facade. Danger lurked in the corner.
Still, Noah could enjoy that new location. It was the first time he had been outside of Cusk. Exempting his time within the chamber of time.
"Do you want out?" Noah asked Erolia, but she refused. He felt slightly disappointed.
"The last time I was here had to be at least seventy years ago. Not much has changed," Elder Velsvon brought up a topic, hoping those cold and distant experts would at least entertain themselves.
Especially Elder Edna. That was the second time he would meet her in his life, and she had been as mysterious as she was then. And this was at least a century prior!
Then he had only been a weakling in the fourth tier. She on the other hand had already crossed the fifth tier. Her power equally seemed as boundless now as it seemed then.
"Then I had been here on a personal quest to test and advance my strength," The expert gave a boisterous chuckle. "Good memories of a young lad searching for power at all means."
"I've crossed these regions severally, but something feels different now," Yuno revealed eyeing the surroundings.
"We're children of Cregar, you do not have to worry. Nothing can overcome us," Elder Velsvon announced even if the ground beneath them rumbled and burst open to reveal four huge gray claws.
Of course, all four experts flickered from their positions to assume higher altitudes. Noah had been capable of keeping up with those experts, but they had reached the sky in a single leap despite that short notice.
His right arm touched a tree and dug into its bark to keep him from falling. Now at a safe distance, he cast his silver gaze on the world below; searching for their attacker.
"Strange," Noah muttered swearing that he had caught sight of a claw. He squinted his eyes finding nothing.
'There's no way it disappeared so quickly!'
Finding no clue since his senses surprisingly failed him. He followed the movement of the tier 5 bird. It had remained unmoved by the event but was now stationary.
lightsnοvεl It released a low prow of sorts and a sound wave far more powerful than expected unfolded into the environment in an instant.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmNoah found his back digging into the tree bark as that invisible force made short work of everything of lower quality.
'Fuck,' he exclaimed inwardly as his internal organs suffered from that event. He gained himself and fled the area understanding what the bird had decided to do.
Unfortunately, he didn't have enough time to leave before another wave of force, this time whitened due to its density, unfolded.
It sounded like a nuke went off since everything within the area of about a kilometer disappeared. Ground to bits by the power of the bird's simple wind-based attacks.
Despite leaving the 1km radius Noah still felt raw force sweep past him and he gasped, coughing blood before crashing through a tree and falling to the ground.
His consciousness grew blurry as pain ravaged his mind. He could withstand it, but the damage suffered had been significant enough to make him want to pass out.
The attack of the fifth-tier beast had been interesting. It completely bypassed his outer protection to reach for his insides. It had to have been born from magic.
"Jeez…" He muttered vaguely seeing a white light beam out of his chest. Erolia. She called out to him. But his eardrums had been destroyed.
"Can I even win against a fifth-tier beast?" he giggled, coughing blood severely. Suddenly his desire to kill a tier-five beast before he broke through into that realm looked like a pipe dream.
'I'm fucked.'
Noah passed out after that point.
