"The wound on Ms. Snyder's face is quite severe. It will still likely leave a scar even if it heals," the doctor said
after the checkup. "She'll need reconstructive surgery after this."
Yvette wasn't concerned about the injury on her face as long as Zachary was safe. She was more interested in
finding out who exactly had kidnapped him.
The number that had called her was now out of service, leaving their lead cold.
Zachary had sketched a brief portrait of Derek out of memory. "He was working for someone else | heard him
calling someone for instructions."
After a pause, he continued, "The person on the line seemed to want him to kill me, but he probably was
reluctant to do so."
Yvette grew more fearful after hearing his words. She was determined to find out who the mastermind was.
Zachary felt heartbroken seeing how her right cheek was bandaged. "You must be feeling so much pain, Mom.

meals. Yvette lowered her head when she saw how understanding he was. "Okay."
Zachary gently blew on her cheek.
"I'm not in pain anymore," Yvette said, trying to comfort him.
Zachary wasn't naive enough to believe in her words. He had seen the deep wound on her face when he'd been
rescued. How could she not feel the pain?
He wondered who exactly had wanted to disfigure Yvette's face or were they after his life instead?
Outside the hospital ward, Xavier and Tristan were discussing what had happened, while Kiki was asking for more
details from the doctor.
After obtaining enough information, she entered the ward and said, "I'm sorry, Yvvy. It's my fault something
happened to Zac. | should have kept a better watch on him!" Yvette did not blher. "What happened this
twas not any of your fault, Kiki. | knew they were targeting me."
When Derek had called her, he'd first wanted her to leave Tirion and then made Ker disfigure her own face. She

After sending Zachary outside, Yvette shared her suspicions to Kiki.
Kiki gasped in disbelief and exclaimed, "She's your biological mother and Zac's own grandmother! How could she
do such a thing?"
Yvette bitterly smiled and said, "She
never thought ofas her daughter. Terrence clooking forthat day and askedto go easy on Yara,
but | refused. I reckon
that was the reason behind all of
this."
Kiki clenched her fists tightly and gritted, "How infuriating!"
"But I'm not too sure. What's important now is to locate this scar-faced man," Yvette said, handing the drawing
to Kiki.

Kiki took a photo of the drawing. "Alright, get Tristan to locate him now!" Tristan was the one who'd lost Zachary
in the first place. He should be responsible for it now.
Yvette replied, "Okay."
Yvette thought that her suspicion was correct. However, she received a bouquet of flowers and a greeting card
from Yara on the sday.
The message on the greeting card read, "Are you alright, Yvvy? | heard that you got hurt. I'm currently sick so |
couldn't visit you. I'm sorry."
Yvette stared at the words on the greeting card in disbelief. Only when she heard the sound of an argument
outside did she snap back to her senses.
Someone said, "I'm here to visit my sister and my nephew! Who are you to stop me?" It was Terrence.
Yvette sat up and told Ray, who was guarding outside, "Let him in." Only then did Ray allow him in.
Terrence walked in and looked around, finding it strange when he saw no child around. Didn't Yvette secretly
have a son with Xavier?
"What are you doing here?" Yvette asked, placing the greeting card aside.
