"You really are an annoying pest!" Fatty Boba bellowed when he smashed his enlarged green arm down on Dilan.
"I can only return that, you lump of fat!" Dilan shouted, deflecting the attack with his sword. He twisted his body and moved with the flow to avoid the attack without sustaining any injuries that could decrease his combat prowess.
With a small spin around his own axis, Dilan ended up in a position that allowed him to initiate a counterattack. This was exactly what he did. He shrouded his longsword in a destruction layer and exerted the first slash of the Destruction Sword Style while slashing the Troll's enlarged forearm.
Fatty Boba's huge body mass which was mostly all fat could be twisted and turned in whatever way the Troll wanted. He could enlarge his arms, legs, his neck, or even his most precious thing.
However, it was just a mass of fat that was enlarged and not the bones themselves.
This ought to make it easier for Dilan to cut through the enlarged arm but the reality was different.
Cutting through the Troll's skin was far from easy. Being a Lesser God, Boba's natural defenses were not something a being with Dilan's strength was supposed to be able to cut through easily.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDespite the things that were supposed to be possible and those that ought to be impossible, and defying all odds, Dilan was able to scratch Boba's skin.
It required tremendous focus and precise utilization of the 72 Slashes of Destruction Sword Style but it was possible.
The only downside was that Fatty Boba was able to heal way too fast. Healing at an accelerated pace usually required a great deal of nutrition and mana.
Fatty Boba had ample of both, which was also the reason why he didn't think much about the damage Dilan could inflict upon him. It was nothing noteworthy in his opinion, after all, it didn't even require mana to tend to the tiny scratches he had sustained.
"Stop running away, and die!!" Fatty Boba screamed, his spit spurting through the surrounding.
Dilan frowned when he saw this and he couldn't help but retort angrily.
"Just shut your fucking mouth and fight properly!" Dilan retorted, coating one of the tang daggers in a greenish-purple layer of mana before he threw it at the Lesser God's head.
He aimed at the mouth and used wind-attributed mana to reinforce his Green Magic as he further accelerated the velocity of the tang dagger.
The Troll didn't think much of Dilan's attack because the last few hours of their fight had already been a repetition of the same moves over and over again.
However, that was the Troll's issue. He closed his mouth a quarter of a second too slowly because he didn't expect the sudden acceleration in the tang dagger's velocity. Because of that misjudged move, the Troll ended up biting onto the tang dagger rather than deflecting it.
"I wonder how high your poison resistance is," Dilan mumbled mostly to himself but loudly enough for the Lesser God to hear.
That was intentional because the instant response upon hearing Dilan's words was to use a tremendous amount of mana to seal the poison-attributed mana that coated the dagger.
Unfortunately, that was the worst Fatty Boba could do in that instance.
"Let it spread, bitch!" Dilan shouted, smiling in exhilaration as he put enough pressure on the tang dagger to burst it open, forcefully unleashing the mana that coated the dagger.
Because he had the perfect combination of an extremely knowledgeable teacher and a teacher who knew almost everything about mana, if one could trust his words about that, Dilan was able to do unimaginable things with his mana and the Ring of Infinite Elements.
It was even possible for him to create his own poison in the form of altered mana as long as he knew the basics. This included knowing how it was created, what the exact mana frequency the ingredients which produced the poison had, and a few more bits of information.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmOne required a terrific control of mana and vast knowledge to achieve what Dilan had just done without being in the possession of any poison-related trait, and yet reproduce lethal poison in the form of altered mana.
And the poison Dilan had reproduced was nothing simple either. It was a poison that spread out by devouring the mana in its surrounding. The more mana the poison came in touch with the faster it would expand.
However, things got even more interesting because the poison-attributed mana was already mana, from the get-go, obviously. Rather than spreading out in the normal ways, the devoured mana was also altered and it began to spread through the mana veins of the Lesser God without giving him the chance to do anything against it.
"Don't worry, the poison is not that strong. It will just make your tummy ache a little," Dilan revealed as if he was consoling Fatty Boba.
But it was no sooner when a bright smile formed on his face, "Unfortunately, you won't have any mana at your disposal after a while, Your mana will be completely altered and the poison will lay dormant in your mana veins. It will rot and your mana veins will decay within days, or maybe months because you are a Lesser God with a great regeneration."
Fatty Boba's regeneration trait required mana. And that was why things would get a lot more difficult for him if he was unable to use the mana within him for a much longer duration than a few days.
Of course, that was something Dilan could make use of.
"And I expected Lesser Gods to be smarter…. Maybe my teachers were just too great at instructing me? Or is it the vast knowledge that resides in my brain after ten thousand years? Looks like someone didn't study enough!"
Mocking Fatty Boba was far from helpful in the given situation. Even if the poison-attributed mana would render the Lesser God's Mana useless it wouldn't be enough to defeat him.
Furthermore, it was not as if Dilan could be certain about the effectiveness of the poison.
So why would he do something as risky as provoking a God?
