"Let me guess, Teleport is your innate skill," Jake said.
"As expected of Champ, you got it," Luke said. "Can you imagine the face I made when I logged in to the game for the first time and saw that skill?"
"Like the chosen hero," Jake said.
"That was right. He got carried away like that," Frederick said. "Even though I also had a pretty useful skill called Mana Domination. That skill grants me the ability to control and learn skills related to mana insanely fast."
Jake couldn't help but wonder if that guild had a name. Calling the morons land seemed like a pretty good name since everyone easily explained what their skills could do. In any case, Jake had a different type of bad feeling when it came to Frederick. It probably wasn't because of his skill but because of his presence. He wasn't as annoying as Luke, but…
"Changing subjects a little bit. Where are you from?" Frederick asked. "I have a feeling that we have met before."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"I am from Tokyo, Japan," Jake replied.
"Again, with that…" Lana said.
Frederick's presence seemed annoying, but it also looked familiar. But Jake didn't know many people who were in the middle of their twenties…
"Now that you mention, I also feel like I have seen him before..." Luke said. "Well, never mind that. Do you want to go back and see how things are in the real world? You will have to lend me ten charged mana rings per person, or at least one hundred thousand coins. That will be enough to buy the mana potions necessary."
Unfortunately, the girls didn't have that amount yet. While Jake had, he didn't want to return. Jake wondered if he could buy some items from Luke. He had some money since he defeated Rick and some of his henchmen and gained their coins. The only problem was the fact that he might have to join their guild for that.
"It is not really my problem, but you two smell like blood," Frederick said. "You two don't look like evil people, so something happened that forced you to fight other humans?"
Frederic apparently had some heck of senses… to think that he would notice that Jake and Karina had killed people. Jake wasn't fazed by that, but Karina began to sweat bullets. She still felt incredibly guilty over the things Rick forced her to do.
"Are you condemning us?" Jake asked. "Your guild has the power to influence a lot of people, but you decided not to do it. Given that, you have no reason to ask that of the things that happen on that starting planet."
"You are right, I don't have the right, and I am sorry if that question bothered you two," Frederick said. "At first, I thought that I should intervene by creating a base in that world. However, I don't think that I have the right to act so high and mighty. I am just a single person, and I don't think that I would be able to lead so many people from so many countries."
"There is also the question of creating a single group that intends to help all the newcomers. Some guilds wouldn't like that," Luke said. "While some of us think that we should pave the best path to everyone, some think that everyone should pave the path themselves while they endure the hardships of this new reality."
Both of them had a point. They didn't know why the players were teleported to other planets or other realities or wherever they were, so it was hard to decide what was the best approach when it came to dealing with new people coming from the tutorial. Besides, they came of their own volition, so they didn't have to be guarded by anyone.
"Putting that aside, do you guys want to join our guild?" Frederick asked. "Adam must have told you that we only work together one week per month, right? If you join us, we can give you information for free about the best mission, hunting spots, and the new things we learn from the system."
"As you already noticed, the missions are only getting harder, so working as a small group will be dangerous from now on," Luke said with a rare serious expression on his face.
As expected, things will get harder from that moment onwards. That was obvious since Luke and Frederick's guild decided to settle on a planet that Jake and the others managed to find after just one week. That sounded like fun to Jake but not so much to the girls. Lately, they have been feeling pretty guilty over not being attacked by the monsters and, while watching, getting hurt over and over again…
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"What do you guys want to do?" Jake asked.
"You don't mind joining the guild?" Lana frowned.
"I won't join, but you guys can," Jake said.
"While we don't mind our members working with non-members, they can't tell certain information to others," Frederick said.
"If you three want to help with some missions after joining their guild, I won't mind in helping, but ultimately I don't plan on working for anyone else,' Jake declared.
"It is not like we actually benefit much from our members' work," Frederic said. "Still, I can understand why you value so much your freedom."
The girls finally understood why Jake said that to Karina earlier. While she wasn't a tank, she was a melee fighter Louise and Lana could trust. So, if something happens, they can rely on her instead of strangers. Even more so since she felt indebted to them. Still, the idea of increasing their group seemed appealing since it would decrease their worries and probably prevent Jake from getting himself killed in front of them. Still, Jake didn't want to work with strangers or for strangers. So, the girls didn't know what to do…
"Well, let's worry about that stuff later," Luke said. "Even if you don't feel like joining us now, you can always do so later. There is no need to feel pressured over it."
