87 THE CROWN PRINCE’S FIRST LOVE
The back covered in white robes and strands of long white hair slowly drifted away from him, but his blue eyes were still glued to the moving back.
It felt like déjà vu like how he kept staring at Zhu Ge’s back when the man was leaving his palace, but then he snorted realizing that he even dared to compare the mighty Crown Prince to the nasty slut from the Red Pavilion.
Ah, was it because he missed the man who always wore red because that man had been away from his palace since a few days ago?
Bai Chen shook his head as he kept telling himself that he was being ridiculous right now just because of the similar backs of those two, and he forced himself to return to his sanity.
The white-haired man had left, but the item the man had given him was still in his hands. Raising his hand to look at the necklace in his palm, he then muttered, “All werewolves will turn into wolves on the full moon night, so I won’t be able to get my thing up since I’m not the type who will do that with animals.”
Bai Renshu had left him, but Bai Chen still responded to the man’s arrogant statement that was uttered before that man left the training ground. The older man looked down on him once more, even questioning his ability to get up when he was around a girl.
Bai Chen was a straight man in his previous life, and he had tested his skills when he was about to score on his girlfriend’s virgin goalpost. He was able to get his thing to stand proudly back then, and he was sure it was still the same even after transmigrating to this world.
Unfortunately, everyone in this world believed that Bai Chen was gay, so they ended up questioning his ability to react when he was around a girl.

.....
“The Crown Prince was acting strange just now,” Bai Chen replied. “He even made a bet with me, and he even used Shao Meihui as a reward if I managed to survive the Beast Hunting Event. Do you know the relationship between him and Shao Meihui, Ma Qiao?”
Even if Bai Renshu told him that he did that because of the relationship between the Black Werewolf Clan head and Bai Chen’s mother, the current Bai Chen still smelled something fishy with the Crown Prince, and the only person who probably could give him some clues about the strange behavior was his old servant.
And maybe his intuition wasn’t wrong as Ma Qiao looked nervous after hearing his question. Bai Chen was certain that Bai Renshu was hiding something, and perhaps even the real Bai Chen in this world didn’t even know about it when he judged the servant’s reaction.
It seemed that the old servant’s tongue was itching to reveal everything because the old man was the gossipy type, but somehow the old man seemed hesitant because he looked like he was fighting with himself right now.
“Say it, Ma Qiao,” Bai Chen spoke when he didn’t get an answer from his servant. “You still like gossiping with other maids, don’t you? You heard something about the Crown Prince from the other maids, right?”
One day, Bai Chen caught Ma Qiao busy gossiping with other maids in his palace. Ma Qiao was the only man in the circle, and he was surrounded by maidservants as they chatted happily about what was going on around the palace.
The habit didn’t surprise Bai Chen as he could guess what kind of person his servant was. A nosy person like Ma Qiao would not be able to stay silent without meddling in other people’s business.
Biting his lower lip nervously, Ma Qiao then looked at the Prince with his pair of puppy eyes. “My apologies, Your Highness. I do like gossip, but I’ve never done anything bad with my hobby. I’m just seeking entertainment with my mouth and ears. I don’t mind bad things!”
Seeking entertainment with his mouth. It sounded wrong somehow, but since the servant had also mentioned his ears, Bai Chen thought that it was only his brain that was too dirty.
Ma Qiao even admitted that gossiping was his hobby, and Bai Chen snorted at it. “I will forgive you if you tell me what you know about the Crown Prince,” he said.
Now, Ma Qiao looked like he was pondering, and Bai Chen patiently waited for the man to spill everything on him. And maybe he had won the battle against the servant when he heard the old man sigh heavily.
“I only heard about it from the servants in Rongyao Imperial Palace, so I don’t know if the information is accurate or not,” the servant began. “The servants told me that the Crown Prince had a relationship with Young Lady Shao in the past. Unfortunately, the Emperor did not accept their relationship.”
Ma Qiao only mentioned ‘Young Lady Shao,’ but Bai Chen could guess that it was Shao Meihui he was talking about. “The Emperor told me that the Black Werewolf Clan actually wanted Shao Meihui to marry the Crown Prince, but he said that he rejected the proposal because the Crown Prince could only marry a girl from the White Werewolf Clan. Is that the relationship you are talking about, Ma Qiao?”
Bai Chen still remembered how the Emperor forced him to marry Shao Meihui. He was only a substitute because the girl couldn’t marry the Crown Prince, and he had accepted the fact that he was indeed only the second Prince of Dong Lang.
“It’s not like that, Your Highness,” to his surprise, Ma Qiao did not confirm his suspicions. “The relationship between the Crown Prince and Shao Meihui is romantic. People also say that they are each other’s first love.”
Bai Chen was surprised once again after hearing the servant’s explanation. The Emperor did say that a Prince had no right to date whoever he wanted, but he did not expect that the same rule would apply to the Crown Prince.
It turned out that Bai Renshu and Shao Meihui were lovers before the man had to marry another girl he didn’t love. Even if Bai Chen didn’t like Bai Renshu, he felt bad for what happened to the man.
“That is why the Crown Prince doesn’t seem too willing to let Shao Meihui go,” Bai Chen whispered when he was able to understand the situation better.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBai Chen had never been in love with anyone even in his previous life, so he didn’t know the feeling when one had to lose someone they loved with all their heart. Perhaps Bai Renshu managed to hide the pain behind his arrogant appearance, but no one could guess what kind of wound was in that man’s heart.
Bai Chen then sighed as he realized that Bai Renshu’s feelings were none of his business. The man hated him, so he didn’t need to care about that man either.
Turning his gaze towards Ma Qiao again, Bai Chen then asked, “Do you know the relationship between my mother and the head of Black Werewolf Clan, Ma Qiao?”
That one thing bothered him, so Bai Chen decided to ask the servant about it. But, surprisingly, the servant looked confused after hearing his question.
“I don’t know about that, Your Highness,” replied the servant. “When the Crown Prince just told you about it, I was also surprised. As far as I know, your mother was just a normal human in the human empire, and she only worked as...” the servant paused before gasping, “My apologies, Your Highness! I didn’t mean to look down on your mother!”
Ma Qiao managed to restrain himself from humiliating the real Bai Chen’s mother, but Bai Chen was just staring at the servant flatly. He knew what the servant was going to say before he suddenly stopped himself, but he didn’t mind because it was the truth that the woman was just a prostitute in the human empire.
“It’s fine,” Bai Chen replied. “I’m just curious about my mother’s relationship with the Black Werewolf Clan head, but if you don’t know about it, then you don’t need to tell me anything. I’ll continue my training now.”
Bai Chen only had one thing on his mind right now, and that was how to prepare himself for the Beast Hunting Event. Talking to Bai Renshu and Ma Qiao was just a waste of time, and he wanted to continue his training now.
But, before he could return to worshiping the ground again, his hand was suddenly grabbed by someone. Looking to the side, he could see Ma Qiao staring at him with a worried expression.
He frowned when he saw that expression, but then his body froze when he heard the servant’s statement.
“I think the Crown Prince still loves Young Lady Shao, Your Highness. What if the Crown Prince plans to kill you during the Beast Hunting Event?”
