Chapter 909 Doomed
Douglas took a breath and immediately told them what had happened. Norman and his family had dirty
expressions.
At the next moment, Linda said, "Elisa is sharp, and she's the best at looking for loopholes. Are you
sure there was nothing wrong with what you said?"
Douglas' expression changed. "I…"
Norman and his family immediately set their gaze on Douglas.
Norman said in a low voice, "Did you say something?"
"No!" Douglas retorted at once in fright, but he realized his voice was slightly loud. He immediately
explained, "I don't think I did. I kept saying that I didn't know anything and that the items on the list were
for health purposes. And their interpretation of the list isn't final. After a long time, no one would

Rose furrowed her brows. "That's right. If you remember, you would seem too calculated, making
people investigate further."
Linda had an awful expression. "Is it really about whether it's calculated? Elisa has placed the
suspicion firmly on us. She must have some evidence if she found you. Did she tell you anything?"
Douglas shook his head. "With her demeanor, I can't be sure. It seems like she hasn't found much, only
a weak connection to me. It's as though she probed and threatened me to make me tell her the truth."
When he said it, he suddenly thought of what Elisa had said.
Elisa had said that if the matter were revealed, Norman would make him the scapegoat. If that time
came, he would be doomed.
In an instant, Douglas felt a chill in his spine.
"No. Elisa is confident with every step she takes. She must have found some substantial evidence. And
by looking for you today, she might have also discovered something from your words." Rose analyzed
while she frowned.
Linda's expression paled. "How can that be?! What we did back then was secret! How could she know
about it?!"
No one said anything after she spoke.
Douglas felt that his forehead was covered in sweat. He raised his hand subconsciously to wipe it.
He was afraid of different things than Norman.
He was afraid that Norman would make him the scapegoat.
Norman and his family feared it would affect Benett Corporation negatively if the matter were
investigated.

But they couldn't look for Elisa rashly either. Otherwise, she would find more traces.
"No. It's impossible. We were so secretive back then. Even if Elisa wanted to investigate, there would
be no traces. Moreover, only we knew about Nelson's allergies. He feared someone outside would
frame him, so he didn't tell anyone. Elisa doesn't know about this," Linda said with gritted teeth.
This was why they had dared to put Norman's medicine in the drawer.
No one said anything.
Douglas was worried. He was terrified and questioned whether he should have told Mr. Benett about it.
As he was nervous, Norman suddenly said in a low voice, "It looks like we should prepare for this. It's
good to get ready for unexpected situations."
"That's right." Rose agreed strongly.
Douglas' figure stiffened.
Are they going to get ready by making me a scapegoat?
When Douglas thought about it, Norman suddenly turned and looked at him.
