In the evening, Ming Rusheng went to meet Wen Zac's grandma, and Ming Lan accompanied him.
In the VIP room of the hospital, they were allowed to enter during visiting hours. An old lady was lying in bed as she talked about something with her grandson and was smiling pleasantly.
There was a knock on the door, and Ming siblings entered the room. Wen Zac knew Ming Rusheng was coming to meet his grandma, but he didn't expect to see Ming Lan with him. He was surprised and thought, 'When did she return?'
Ming Lan greeted Wen Zac, to which Wen Zac only nodded slightly, and she went to his grandma. Ming Rusheng stood beside Wen Zac, who looked unusually silent.
"She returned a week before," Ming Rusheng replied to Wen Zac's unspoken question.
Wen Zac didn't react as if now it didn't matter to him, but the silence around him was enough for Ming Rusheng to realize his condition. Looking at his sister, he could see his sister was clueless about everything.
"How are you, grandma?" Ming Lan asked the old lady who looked at her smiling. The wrinkles around her eyes turned deeper with a smile.
"I am fine, dear. Finally, you have time to meet me."
"I am sorry, grandma. I was out of the country."
"Hmm," nodding, grandma looked at her grandson and said, "My grandson told me when last time I asked him."

"You better, or I will make you my granddaughter-in-law so that I can keep you by my side always," The old lady said as she held Ming Lan's hand.
Ming Lan smiled, "Grandma, it won't happen. This time I am in China and will come to see you often."
"Good to know. Now you all have grown up; I don't get to see you all together."
"Hmm, all are busy, but we will make time for grandma," Ming Lan assured. "Just get better fast and discharge from here."
Grandma talked to Ming Rusheng while Wen Zac was only silent. The woman he had loved for so long didn't even think about him as a man. She didn't even bother to answer him yes or no when he confessed to her. She just disappeared for so long, and he could only keep waiting for all these years, thinking one day she will at least say she didn't like him. Getting no reply from her was even worse. He was not even worth the reply from her. He was affected by it, but she was so calm and acted as if nothing happened.
Ming Rusheng and Ming Lan left in a while.
Grandma looked at Wen Zac. "Didn't you tell her yet?"
"She doesn't think about me in that way, grandma," Wen Zac replied.
Grandma sighed, "Well, these things can't be forced. I hope you will get another nice woman."
Wen Zac could only nod as he looked a bit lost, and his eyes showed he was hurt. Wen Zac was the kind of person who would show his emotions so easily. He preferred to look calm and always happy that made others feel better. When it came to the woman he loved, only then he looked so serious and silent.
The next evening Ming Lan was ready to go for dinner with her brother. She dialed Lu Bio's number, "Are you sure they are going to the same hotel?"
"Lian told me before leaving," Lu Bao replied.
Ming Lan hung up the call and came out of her room. Ming Rusheng was waiting for her and asked, "Have you decided where you want to go?"
"Hmm," Ming Lan replied and stepped ahead to go towards the car.
"Where?" Ming Rusheng asked, following her.
"Anywhere, where I will take you," Ming Lan replied, "I am driving today."
Ming Rusheng could only agree and sat in the front passenger seat to let his sister drive.
They reached a luxurious hotel where they went to the dining area.
"Feels like I am here after like ages," Ming Lan said as they walked.
"To not feel that one need not disappear for years while caring for others and ignoring their own family." Ming Rusheng commented, "No one will marry you if you…"
"I don't plan to marry anyone, so the brother can rest assured," she interrupted.

Standing in front of each other, the three looked awkward, while Ming Lan was the only one normal.
She looked at Lu Lian and Wen Zac, "What a coincidence. I didn't know I will see you two here."
"I didn't expect you here either," Lu Lian spoke as she looked at Ming Lan.
"Don't worry, I know it's both of your first date, so we two won't disturb you," Ming Lan said. The mentioning of date turned the three even awkward.
Wen Zac collected himself and put his hand around Lu Lian's waist as he said to the other two, "See you then," and asked Lu Lian, "Shall we?"
Lu Lian nodded, and the two left.
Ming Rusheng's sight almost pierced through Wen Zac's hand that was around Lu Lian's waist. She allowed him on their first date. Was she serious?
Ming Lan noticed it and thought, 'It's just a start, brother. Soon you will end up confessing to her. You are just so stubborn to not accept your feelings for her.'
Ming Lan was still unaware of what had happened between her brother and Lu Lian and thought it was just a lover's quarrel or the two must be just so stubborn to confess to each other.
"Brother, shall we?" she asked.
Ming Rusheng nodded and they sat at their reserved table. Though both tables were far, if one wanted, they could see each other.
