Chapter 192: The long wait is over

"Congratulations, bro," Dale said, patting his best friend on the shoulder. "Thanks, dude," Luke replied with a

huge grin.. "Finally, the long wait is over!"

"Yeah, finally,"

"Make sure to take care of sister this time," Dale turned toas he continued seriously. "She may be the most

stubborn woman you would ever meet on your journey and even though we are not as sweet as other siblings

out there, she's my sister..." And then turned his gaze back to Luke. "And I love her,"

"Aww..." | subconsciously put my hand over my chest as | was surprised and touched at the stby what

my brother had said.

"And | won't just sit still this tif you ever cheat on her again. Yeah, we may be best friends and treat each

other like brothers, but if you hurt her again, | swear to God to chop your balls into pieces and bury you six feet

under the ground!" "Whoa!" Luke and | had the sshocked reaction at the stime.

"You knowwell ever since we were teenagers and you also know that | never go back on my words. So don't

worry because | love your sister and what | did to her will never happen again. | have already learned my lesson

and | will never do anything like that again. | will never do anything to destroy my family."

"Alright, I'm just reminding you, dude, not just as your best friend and her older brother but as a man. You know,

I'm already married man and | now understand how painful that thing will be if you do it again."

Luke was about to say something but Jack suddenly interrupted him as she tugged my arm and askedto

cwith her.

"Eherm, uhm... Luke, do you mind if | borrow your fiancée for a few minutes?" she asked and Luke nodded with a

chuckle.

"Yeah, of course, just please don't forget to give her back tolater." he then kissedon the forehead before

letting my hand go. "What about me--- don't you want to borrowtoo, babe?"

| couldn't help raising an eyebrow and halted when Dale asked her wife you know... a nonsensical question... just

to get her attention. "Nope, no need!" She raised an eyebrow too. "And | don't want to!"

"Ouch!" he pretended to be hurt much to my annoyance.

"Tss!" | huffed, giving my brother a 'what the heck’ look.

"You're mine and you've been mine for a long tso, why need to borrow you?" she winked and | swear, | felt

like all my bones and my whole body shuddered, especially when they shared a sweet smile enough for the

bees, bugs and ants to feast. "Argh!" | grabbed her hand, motioning her to look at me. "Shall we? Before the

annoyance and envy get to my bones and kill you both!"

They just laughed at what | said..

Well, honestly, I'm so happy with how my brother treats my best friend so far, and the sas Jack to her

husband. They haven't changed from the first tthey admitted their feelings, to their first day of marriage and

even now. Dale never forgets to make Jack smile and make her happy even in simple ways or simple things. And

which I admire the most.

"Where are we going? Where are you taking me?" | couldn't help but ask with a frown when Jack ledto the

stairs.

"Just cwithand don't ask so many questions, okay?"

"Jack?"

"Haist! Fine, | have a surprise for you!" she said rolling her eyes and taking my hand at the stand she

draggedup the stairs and into their room.

"What are we doing here? | thought you said you had a surprise for me?" | asked with a frown as soon as she

closed the door behind me.

"Yup, | have a surprise for you, so sit down for a moment while I'm getting it." She grinned, gesturingto sit

on the edge of the king-sized bed and | complied with a sigh.

She then went into the walk-in closet

and while | was waiting, | decided to wander around the room. It's Dale's old room actually, They just made some

arrangements and a little renovation so it could look better and fit his wife's personality. They changed the color

from Gray and blue to Jack's favorite, beige and apple green.

"Ohh..."

| stopped in my tracks when | caught a glimpse of their wedding photo which was placed over the bedside table.

"Hmm... | love your smile here, big

brother," | smiled. "You seemed so in

love--—- well, yeah, | mean, you've been in love with her since the first day you met my best friend. It's just that

you were such a coward to admit your feelings, so you decided to annoy the hell out of her every single day to

get her attention but look at you now, tsk, tsk, tsk. And

Augustine, who would have thought that you would end up marrying the man you said you would never think of

marrying even in your wildest dreams? Haist... life and its surprises!" | breathed, looking around again but it was

the tJack cout of the dressing room with a medium-sized rectangular red box in her hands.

"Ta-da!" she then placed it on top of the bed.

"What is that?" | asked, walking towards her as curiosity got into me.

"A box," she grinned as she watched my reaction.

"I know it's a box but what is inside of that box, duh?" | huffed, placing my hands over my hips.

"Just kidding! Inside this box is my surprise for you!"

"Okay..."

"Con, open it," she said motioning forto open the box.

"Alright," | sat down in my previous spot earlier. "Wait, are you sure there isn't a bomb in here?"

"Uhm... nope, just a grenade,"

"Whoa!"

"Haha... con, why would | put a bomb in it--- just open it!"

"Hmmp! Fine!"

And as | began to lift the lid, it didn't even cross my mind what might be inside. So my mouth fell open in utter

surprise when the red cloth or should I just say a Victoria's Secret lingerie cinto my sight. "Jesus Christ,

Jackeline!" | said in surprise before my lips exploded in a burst of hilarious laughter.

"Do you like it?" she asked, grinning widely in front ofand | took a deep breath so | could stop myself from

laughing.

"Seriously?"

"Yup, do you like it? | bought it myself when | went to the mall last week with your brother,"

"Jeez!" the only reaction | had before laughing again. "I thought you had something special, duh! | mean, you

bought this thing with my brother--- haist--- don't you know how awkward it is forwhen | think about it?

Gosh!" "It's fine, he's your brother anyway," she gavea shrug.

'Haist! That's the point!'-

"And actually, he was the one who

picked the red color," she winked and my face crumpled in embarrassment. "He said Luke wil scream in surprise

that moment he sees you in super tight and sexy lingerie and--- for sure Cali will definitely have a baby brother

or sister or it could be both fight after your honeymoon!"

"Whoa!" | blinked slowly, taking all her words in.

And after a few seconds of mischievous laughter that echoed throughout the four corners of their room, she

finally stopped but still had a huge, annoying grin on her lips.
