Chapter Two Hundred and That Eight
Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty Eight
Bailey's eyes widened in shock as she stared at the dagger now prodding out of her chest. | didn’t stop at that. |
pulled the dagger out, only to strike over and over again, till | was sure she was dead.
She fell to the floor in a puddle of her own blood, and finally | paused to stare at her.
It was over; | couldn't believe it. | would be free.
I didn’t know | was crying till | felt the tears against my cheeks; this wasn’t tears of pain or sadness but of relief.
It worked. | couldn’t believe it worked; | had been one step ahead of her.
| took Bailey’s body deeper into the woods, a shovel in my hand, and when | was completely out of sight, | began
digging as quickly as | could. | dumped her body into the hole | had dug. | had been about to cover her up when |
heard the footsteps. | turned, but | had been a second too late. Something hard cinto contact with my head,
and | fell to the ground.
The last thing | saw before | blacked out was Nick's figure standing over me.
| awoke with a start. My head hurt, and | noticed | was bound to a chair.
My blurred vision got clearer, and | noticed two figures, Nick and... Bailey.
“I guess the water did the trick,” she says, tossing the now empty bucket away. |, on the other hand, was soaking
wet.

should be impossible.
“I guess you are wondering why | am still breathing. The answer to that is very simple. You mistookfor a
regular werewolf. You have to do better than silver daggers to end me,” she said with a sick smile on her face.
My gaze found Nick.
“You.” | called out venemously.
“Yes Riley. Me. | am the reason you were not successful with your little burial and, of course, why you are here.”
“Why, Nick?, why would you do this to me?” | questioned, and then it clicked-he was being compelled too. “So
you've got him compelled too?” | questioned Bailey, and she only laughed.
“No one hascompelled; | am here because | want to be.”
“You are working with her?”

Yes, | am. It might hurt, but | need to reveal one more secret to you, one | should have told you.” He said with a
simile, like he found his words funny. “Another reason | turned you was to help the elder get her revenge; | hadn't
lied about the other reasons though; | thought you would be a good partner for me, but that was not the main
reason for turning you.”
“So... everything, it was all an act?”
“What else did you
think?”
“No.” | whispered. This | didn’t expect, no, not at all.
“Oh yes, Riley. When you cto our pack, Bailey showed up too; she had the plan all sorted out, and | went
along with it.”
“What did she promise you in exchange?”
