Almost two months passed in the blink of an eye, but the battle between the Lightning Titan and Dilan was still not over.
To be precise, it was slowly coming to an end.
The Lightning Titan killed Dilan more often than he could count, yet, he didn't feel victorious.
In fact, he was not even close to winning against Dilan, even though his combat prowess was several times higher than Dilan's.
The reasons for Dilan to become the winner sooner or later was simple but of utmost importance; he was confident and his mentality didn't shake the slightest no matter how many times he had been killed.
Others wouldn't even be able to endure the illusion of getting killed once. Meanwhile, Dilan actually lived through such an 'illusion' daily…just that his illusion was reality.
He was confident to survive no matter how many times he was 'killed', and he was mentally strong enough to never succumb to the fear of death and keep paving a way toward his goal.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThat was what Dilan had in mind whenever he fought with his life on the line. If he was not confident enough, he would never be able to make use of all his abilities and traits. The True Undying Essence was stronger when Dilan fought with a goal in mind. He healed much faster, to the extent that his entire body could burst apart one moment just to be healed a moment later.
That was the extent his True Undying Essence had attained by now, and Dilan didn't hesitate to make use of it. The Flame of the Beginning was a sore loser as well. It wouldn't give up no matter how many times Dilan died. It was not a great feeling to sense a portion, equivalent ot 0.0001% of Dilan's pain. That was already enough for the Flame of the Beginning to wreak havoc.
Being in possession of its own sentience, the Flame of the Beginning was able to control everything attached to its body neatly. The flames it unleashed were clearly under its control and the Flame of the Beginning had used them to burn down the entire domain of the Lightning Titan.
It didn't want the Lightning Titan to ever be able to live in his domain again. Thus, everything was burned down to a degree that couldn't be repaired anymore.
The Lightning Titan had been enraged about that but he was not able to stay angry because his utilization of the flawed Lightning God's Fist became unstable.
Meanwhile, Dilan's execution of the perfect Lightning God's Fist was too frightening. It was a piece of art, no matter how much of Dilan's body was destroyed in the process.
Dilan was clearly the true wielder of the Lightning God's Fist technique…and that was what crushed the Lightning Titan the most. The more time passed and the longer he fought Dilan, the deeper the scar in his heart became.
At one point, the Lightning Titan felt incapable of moving. He was merely standing around, allowing Dilan to beat him up.
Dilan's physical strength and the crimson lightning were not strong enough to cause great harm to the Lightning Titan, not even combined, but that was not what Dilan intended to do.
"You…win…"
While the Lightning Titan was fully aware of how long they fought, Dilan was oblivious to the truth. His entire existence was in the zone, oblivious to anything that happened around him.
Only when he heard the first words the Lightning Titan spoke since their battle had begun did Dilan halt in his tracks.
He disappeared from his position high in the air and he landed on the charred ground. With the Perfect Essence Cultivation technique activated, he created a large suctioning force that allowed him to replenish his used up energy within seconds. Even the power that the Flame of the Beginning had used up quite a bit was replenished quickly.
"Fighting your own technique should have shown you that mine if perfected," Dilan spoke out loud in the direction of the Lightning Titan who slumped to the ground.
His body was regenerating quickly but his pride had been cracked.
"What…happened?" He could only ask, his voice showing quite clearly that his pride had been worth far more than Dilan expected.

Why else would I waste so much time trying to beat you up with that technique?!" Dilan thundered, slightly angered at the attitude of the Lightning Titan.
"Do you think I have nothing better to do than fighting a Titan without any weapons?!"
The Lightning Titan looked at Dilan, confusion gleaming in his eyes. Seeing this, Dilan could only sigh heavily and stare at his master's main body in displeasure.
"I don't know who you are…why are you calling me master, and why would I want to be beaten up from my own technique? My technique is not as powerful as yours either…." The Lightning Titan retorted, and Dilan felt like he was talking to a sulky five-year-old girl.
"You Soul Shard in the City of Trials is not that much of a crybaby. He gets beaten up every single day but he started to create the first motions of his movement technique…" Dilan blurted out, which caused the Lightning Titan to look deep into his eyes.
"My Soul Shard…taught you this technique?" He asked and Dilan nodded his head.
'I knew that he was slow but this is really tiresome…I would rather continue fighting…'
Dilan didn't say a thing for a few minutes, allowing the Lightning Titan to sort his thoughts, digest the things Dilan had mentioned before, and so on.
"I already expected it, but you are the Undying of the prophecy, ain't you?" He said after a few minutes while acting as if he had known all along.
"Now everything makes much more sense…"
"...I'm such a genius!!"
