Chapter 215  Heading To The Mountains

Arthur had successfully blocked the beast and hence suffered no damage.

"This won't work against me, you have other newbies to hunt." Arthur replied before pushing back with the spear.

<nulli>~THUD~

The spear head rubbed against the Bone Blade beast's blade activating its passive.

>Bone Blade Beast's next attack has been boosted!<

"Rapid Thrust!" Of course, Arthur didn't care for the boost and quickly countered.

[-22% HP]

The Bone Blade Beast was struck thrice, once in its shoulder, once it its back and once in its leg causing it to lose quite a bit of HP.

~<nulli>WHIMPER~

The beast was in pain and couldn't not react fast enough to the next attack.

~<nulli>SLICE~

Arthur swung the Key Spear and sliced along the beast's neck, severing its spine from the top!

[-16% HP]

[Fatal hit!]

<nulli>~thud~

Before the beast could let out another cry, it fell to the ground lifelessly.

Arthur had already been at the edge of another level up when he had defeated the Man Faced Walking tree. And the death of the Bone Blade Beast had granted him the final bit of experience needed for it.

"Level 23… 7 more to go for thirty then I should be able to go to the Oxal Mountains." Arthur muttered to himself.

The Oxal Mountains were beyond Samson city and it was a high leveled area. While there wasn't a direct restriction on one's level to enter there, one could simply be wiped out by the enemies on the way there.

Arthur obvious knew how to maneuver the path and fight against enemies, it was still pushing it a bit when he was considered level 30 for it.

For the normal player level 45 might be the baseline when they would even think of going there. But with Arthur's higher stat gain, he would have stats that exceeded an normal level 45 player by that point.

'I should also be able to kill a few draconid type beasts there.' Arthur thought to himself.

Draconid type beasts in general were stronger than most other enemies that the players would face and as such it was also a bit hard to find them.

Even if they had a fixed habitat, their numbers would still be limited.

Of course, this was considered good for most players as they wouldn't want to be overwhelmed by a swam of them. It was only Arthur who could obtain bonus stats from them that they seemed to be scarce.

It was basically a problem that only a few privileged players could have.

<nulli>~sigh~

"Let's continue onwards." Arthur began to go deeper into the forest.

He didn't summon Brambles yet, as the path here was still narrow and the giant beetle would be slowed down due to it.

'I should take the path that goes along the river. Brambles can simple fly over the river which will make it easier. There are some stronger enemies there too, so we'll have more experience to obtain.' Arthur reckoned.

As such, he changed he route a bit and went to the northern side. This was technically going a bit farther from the straight path, but would make it easier for Arthur to follow along once he hit the river.

The river came from the mountains beyond Trunel woods and flowed through it diagonally. It would continue passing and go further north, before eventually bypassing the mountains that the players would have to go through to reach the Roran Town.

The river that went to Kestrel Village was a split branch the very same river that Arthur was trying to reach now.

Along the way, Arthur encountered a few more Bone blade Beasts, but Arthur didn't kill them himself. Instead he would summon Brambles to kill them, as he would get more experience than him. And once they were killed he would unsummon the beetle so that the travel would be faster.

By the time they reached the river, Brambles had killed about six Bone Blade Beasts.

<nulli>~GUSH~

The sound of a gushing river was heard, coming from the distance while the air felt more humid than usual.

"Here we are, come out Brambles." Arthur summoned the Dragon Horn Beetle.

~<nulli>KIII~

The Dragon Horn Beetle appeared with a short cry and looked around, finding himself in an open space with water nearby.

"You can travel in the open now. Just fly over the water, and I'll run along the bank." Arthur suggested.

"RI!" The beetle agreed with a nod of its horn and opened its wings.

<nulli>~BUZZ~

His wings flapped at a high speed, whipping up winds before he lifted off the ground.

<nulli>~SPLASH~

And when he was over the water, the force from his wings was strong enough to splash it all the way to where Arthur was.

"Whoa there," Arthur avoided getting drenched and put some more distance between him.

The river bank was a mix of stones and silt, thus walking on it wasn't as smooth. But just a few more meters from it, there was a reasonably firm path with trees growing alongside it.

Arthur simply used that to travel, while Brambles was a few meters from it. They were just close enough to fight together and yet far enough to not interfere with each other.

"We just have to follow the river and go all the way to the mountains now!" Arthur informed the beetle who responded with a short chitter.
